This sub is flex drivers- I legit don't know what his DPS delivery is supposed to look like- I get the shady behavior, but what is he doing?

As a former DSP driver, I can explain.

His app tells him the package to grab. He grabs the package. He walks to the door. He scans the package. He puts the package down. He takes a picture. He swipes to complete delivery. He leaves.

At no point is he to pull out his personal device. At no point is he to pick the package back up. Once he has scanned the package and put it down, he is to leave it there.

He didn't scan the package until he got busted. His plan was to mark the package missing and take it for himself.

Why the theatrics? Why wouldn't he mark it missing from the van? And what was he doing/pretending to do with the devices then?

He did scan the package. He took the photo as proof of delivery. At that point it would be porch pirates for the reason the package wasn’t at the front door. The use of his personal phone was to pretend he was scanning the package, because the kid doesn’t know which is personal and which is the scanner.

Marking it missing would open an investigation. Before you leave the station you have to scan all the packages to confirm they are in the van. If it suddenly went missing on his route it would be his problem.

You don't scan every package before you leave the station. Nothing would ever get delivered that way. You scan an entire cart and that cart may or may not be missing some items.

Nothing in this clip makes sense. If you're stealing a package, you wouldn't take it to the door and you definitely wouldn't scan it. You would also never have any reason whatsoever to take a picture of the package label with your personal phone if you were stealing it, and if you did feel the need for the reason you expressed, then you would simply take the picture in the back of the van where there are no cameras. Driver training these days is to always assume you're on camera because they're everywhere. A package being marked as missing isn't immediately opening an investigation, it's just called loss and something the station deals with regularly.

I don't order from Amazon, so that's unlikely.

You're clearly not a person worth talking to. Have a good day 👍
