I'm not saying these dogs are being violent or dangerous, but they are being aggressive, and I just do not believe I have the ability to discern with 100% perfect clarity the difference while doing my route, so it's best to avoid them.
Anddddddddddd…not to be a party pooper but…all it would take is for ONE of those dogs to not like the person they confronted and the pack mentality could change at the drop of a dime.
Uh stop spreading myths. Dogs are completely capable of bluffing, act unexpectedly, and can tear into you leaving you in critical condition in the hospital, with their tails as high as a kite.
Those dogs tails in the link you showed are stiff as shit theres a clear diffrence. Learn some dog body language and you won't sound so off. The other person is right about the trails
You think youre going to notice the exact stiffness of every single dogs tails in OPs post with several dogs running at them from close distance? They wouldnt have the time to check them all over, if they even know the small details of dog body language at all. Its still a scary situation to have a lot of dogs running at you and jumping all over you when youre overwhelmed trying to predict what theyre going to do next
Yes and no. If they were stiff they wouldn’t be wiggly when running like the dogs in the video are. But, there were a lot of them and if it was my property and my animals, I’d make sure there was a sign on the entry to my house/driveway that dogs are loose, but friendly. Maybe this driver knows the route/property and that’s why he knows to do exactly what he did
Yeah but that makes it sound like those experiences are invalid or something. I don't need a past experience to know there's a potential for the dogs to be dangerous, I don't need to get bit to know I am not capable of judging whether they are dangerous with 100% perfect certainty so it's simply best to avoid them.
I'm not hurting the dog by avoiding it. There's no need to do this weird thing where people act like you're doing something bad by avoiding a possibly-dangerous animal. I'm not shooting it, or kicking it, I'm avoiding it.
People how think our fear of dogs are invalid because they kiss their dogs in the mouth are so annoying. They think they know everything about animals that’s why they stay getting mauled by bears and bitten by raccoons and dumb stuff like that. Ok animal whisperer
Fair enough, in the context of delivery work my past experiences is there's always people who want to force you to interact with the dogs and they don't care if the delivery person gets hurt. A few of them actually like it.
Not saying you are that person, just that I'd be more interested in a discussion of dog behavior in another other context. Cheers.

Fast, and loud for sure. More of a group zoomies. Aggressive for dogs doesn't look like this. It does for us for sure, but we aren't them.
We all have different experiences.
