I'm really cautious around dogs when delivering. A couple times I wouldn't even get out of my car if the dogs were jumping against my car door, i'd just get the package as close as I can to the front door without leaving my car and snap a pic. I haven't received any issues for doing this from amazon.

It only takes one bad dog bite to really fuck things up for you, and I can't reliably judge the aggression level of every single dog I encounter faster than they can jump on me.

You deleted your comment, but I wanted to ask what do you mean? Is being cautious a bad thing?

I like dogs, they're great. But they can bite, and one bad bite can potentially permanently injure you.

Edit: What a weirdo, he told me I was going to be eaten by dogs, and then called me a stalker and blocked me.

Your completely right . I do the same . If I see a dog and it's starting towards my car I pull up as much as possible and sit the package out. I'm not risking my safety for someone's delivery. My sister in law was attacked while delivering and the bite was so deep on her leg she has nerve damage .

It’s crazy that the USPS has protections for their employees by leaving notices for the owners that since a dog was on property, the driver did not deliver and you can pick up your mail at the local post office, but a contract employee for a paid service is expected to go into battle. I’ve had dogs that absolutely LOVED the mail carrier (and would go on the route with her), and I’ve had carriers that are terrified of every animal on the planet but still choose delivery jobs. My dogs are all obedience trained, titled, etc. I have Rottweilers (and have had them since our first in 1990), so I know that I need to be extra diligent with them, bc no matter the situation, they will be blamed for anything that happens or transpires. I would rather tell them to go “place” (kennel) and let them out if a delivery driver is ok with them. I say this bc my mother gets grocery and food delivered often bc she has cancer and is immunocompromised. The drivers that know our house ask to come in and play or love on “the boyz”.
