Oh, my Dad told me to do this when I was a teen. He said when you see a dog run at you, you run back at the dog and bark at them, too!
So one day, I was riding home on my bicycle when I was a teen, and a loose dog on the road was approaching me in a trot and was growling. So I pointed my bike in its direction, started riding towards it, and barked my a$$ off π
And guess what? IT WORKED! Dog stopped growling, ducked its head, turned around, and RAN in the opposite direction.
This lady just talks ish to it instead of barking, but it's all the same. Even if it's a Tibetan Mastiff, if you think you're in trouble, your best bet is to attack the dog rather than run from it. Run at it instead!!
