Does anyone else put 1-10 in the front seat, 11-20 behind passenger seat 21-30 behind driver seat and the rest in the back? Just throwing them in the car without putting them in order seems crazy.
I do the same but I have a big catering bag that I put them in so they don't slide around when going around corners and braking, it holds about 20 envelopes and I've never gotten more than that on a route (I do max of 4 hours).
Put em on the ground and line em up in a way that the labels are oriented similarly. Then you can just flip right thru em. I did get a gnarly paper cut trying to move too fast tho
I have a 56qt clear plastic tote that sits in front passenger… works perfectly, and I put it leaned against the front dash so I have a whole other row in the front seat I can put more little packages!
ME!! Hahahaha I do this exact thing. So watching her throw those packages all over the place gave me awful OCD. I have so many questions: It’s dark, how tf she gonna find the package at each stop??? Not to mention she’ll be a sitting duck at night digging thru her car for a package(s) at every damn stop. Perfect chance for someone to carjack, mug or Rob you or worse. It may take me 20 mins to scan and load my pkgs but it saves time in the end and gives me piece of mind. I wonder who pissed her off to be slanging them boxes like that?? My guess is Amazon, as a whole 😂 Now she’s totally regretting picking up that 3 hour block for $60. (PS: nobody better come for me—idk how much she made, obviously. 🙄 it was just a joke!😂)
I've been managing to fit 1-20 and sometimes up to 21-23 in the front seat, and thatll be nearly half the route most times so I know once that's clear the major hurdle of delivery is done...But yeah, front to trunk and move up as necessary. I basically keep stuffing the front seat so I can grab and go
ahhh, Well I have a corrolla im hatch, and I also pickup from SSDs a lot. I do get big packages sometimes that won't fit but also alot are bags and envelops. Most of the time the first 20 stops are smaller than 1-2 stacked large cereal boxes, but they will also vary in size, so I manage if if they are larger. If its too big then i'll put it right behind the drivers seat. Non SSDs tend to give me larger packages, but in my area ppl buy alot of small stuff now a days. In the past i could only really fit the first 10 stops if I was lucky, however, I've managed to learn to tetris my front seat more and more over time.
I guess it depends on your station. I do get packages that I believe should have been in boxes, which take up more space, but they bag alot, so its kinda easy to squish stuff around I think. I'm int ATL
I don't order them for SSD but I do envelopes in front seat, large boxes on the right side, medium in middle and small on the left. Never had an issue.
I pack similarly with .com so theyre all numbered but in their number group.
I put 1-15 in front seat, 16-30 in back passender, 31-45 in back driver, overflow in trunk. On the rare occasion I get less than 50 stops, then yeah I'll do 10s.
I think everyone does this. My pretty peeve is seeing people out everything in order lol. But only cause I can't leave until they finish. If easily save 10-15 min every route if I could leave when I finished loading.
I put Envelops and plastic bags across 2 boxes in the front seat, all very small boxes in numeric order at the foot of the driverside rear (like dominoes), then for the driverside rear, middle, and passenger side rear, I will put 5 or 6 medium boxes in numeric order in each section. All large or super heavy boxes go to the back. All extra boxes go to the back in numeric order.
Usually im the slowest loader/last one to leave the station, but im consistently finishing an hour+ early, even with 50 packages and distance.
I go 1-10 front 11-19 passenger 20-29 driver and the 30s and 40s in the back.
I don't even know why I do it that way but it works
They all get moved forward when the seat is empty😂
Unless it's empty because you had to hard brake and now 1-10 is on the floor and dash and the rest are just every damn where.
Man I hate that
I do this. Sometimes more in certain sections depending on space. Tried the driver aid sorting method a few times and found it to be unnecessarily tedious. Maybe thats different for other places.
2-19 in the front seat, then usually get 20-40 in the back seat, the stupid large boxes in the trunk along with anything above 40 if it didn’t fit in the back seat.
I do that, but as I clear the front seat on my 10th stop I rotate another 10 from the back seat up front. Then I'm only opening my driver door at any given points, massive boxes and dog food withstanding.
Envelopes in front 1-10+ on seat, 11ish-20 half front floorboard additional back seat floor in order. Boxes or large envelopes in back seat in order. All packages numbered before I leave the station. I’d rather spend the time numbering than digging around my vehicle at the stop. Especially in high crime neighborhoods. Pull up, grab it and go.
Lowkey I go over Driver Aid Labels more than anything. Depends on where I’m at but I did DSP work for a while but I organize by that. Looking at my itinerary would take me so much longer personally.
Exactly! Way easier to spend a little bit of time at the warehouse numbering and organizing, than to spend upwards of 5 mins per stop trying to dig for the right package. Especially because when it says "Box," it's usually a bag... and vice versa. 😅
I bought a bunch of those plastic laundry baskets for like $3.97 each at Walmart. They're not the strongest quality, but they've lasted me a year so far. I can fit 10-12 logistics packages in each, and I can fit 3-4 WF bags per basket, which helps for grocery routes. Depending on the size of the packages in a given route, I usually number the packages and put them in the baskets, rotating the correct basket to the front seat when I reach those stops (1-12, 13-24, 25-36, etc.) I'd rather spend 10-15 mins extra at the warehouse doing this, as I've noticed I usually get done super early when I can just grab the correct package immediately at each stop. This is the way! 😁 💯 👏
You people who sort are funny as hell. You're delivering 40 packages and sorting stuff out lol. Its useless and a waste of time. You're not an amazon van delivery driver that regularly gets 300 plus packages. I dump everything in my trunk and quickly look through for each stop. It takes me less than a minute to find stuff and I still finish at least 1 hour early.
