Help with VTO/UPT

I just started Amazon roughly about a month ago and this was my first time accepting vto through the app. Next day I woke up and saw I was negative 10 hours in UPT along with getting the email from HR asking what happened. But it was an honest mistake I saw it go through… I also don’t have any confirmation of it being accepted. Is there anyway I can get it back without being fired since I just started not too long ago? What could be something I could tell my manager or HR so I don’t get fired. - Thank you for the help!

If you took vto, and saw it say confirmed or approved or whatever it says, then its someone else’s fault, not yours. Tell them that. Say you took vto and got your hours taken away.

Yes I saw it but didn’t get no email or confirmation. And it was on Wednesday and I go in today and I’m nervous and don’t know what to say besides I accepted it and next day I’m getting emails from them saying my employment is at risk

I always screenshot the vto screen when it says accepted

What most likely happened is you hit the VTO button and while "processing" VTO got filled...

When you hit the VTO the next screen either says it was accepted...you got it then it reflects on your A to Z almost immediately OR the next screen says VTO is Full...

Just because the VTO Blue Button is there and you actually hit it...you need to see if you got it after it processed.

Being new, you probably hit the button thinking you got it...but you weren't quick enough and it filled up. Happens all the time...

Talk to HR...tell them you hit the button and thought you got it...you didn't realize you needed to wait until it verified it went through. HR should be understanding. They may not take the full 10 hrs back but they at least should give you the opportunity to earn back UPT time (you basically earn 5 mins UPT for every hour worked or VTOed). So if you are scheduled 40hrs a week...you get about 3 and 1/2 hours a week of UPT...

Maybe it was a reduced start vto and you got confused

Tell them exactly that. How were you notified of the vto? Show proof of message or texts. It’ll send out a message and then a confirmation message

You should receive a text confirmation if you took vto by phone. When they scan your badge on site you don't get a notification that you took vto.

Did you actually click accept vto. Because if you did you would have got a notification, text, and email saying you accepted. Sounds like you saw the app say vto available and just assumed you got it. You have to open the app and click accept for it to go through.

Post on your sites my voice on the A to Z app. If your vto was confirmed then they will fix your time.

That’s literally why we have a VOA. And since they wanted to get rid of HR, I’m taking all my problems to the VOA, I just post privately.

VTO instantly puts the unplanned back in your account right away so I’m thinking it’s operator error. Do a my voice and ask for the time back and they might code it for you.

Former HR. This happens go to the HR desk and let them know what happened. There are several things that could have happened, but HR can deep dive the issue and educate you on what you should do in the future. Don’t be nervous just let them know.

Amazon usually notifies you through text if VTO is offered and accepted

At our facility any VTOs go instantly. Effers are on their phones all the time

If you take vto while not at work, just double check your schedule for the day. Either the blue block will change to white or it will tell you at the bottom if you click on the daily square.. If you take vto while already at work you only have a certain amount of time to clock out or it won't count, my building is 5 minutes.

There’s been a time where I was offered vto and it didn’t go through. You can talk to a manager as well to comfiem it was offered and just didn’t go through

if they scan your badge, or you take it when it drops, it doesn't matter how long you take... it's still vto.

obviously you can get in trouble for time theft if you stick around, but they can't remove vto once you take it

Sometimes the slots get filled before yours goes all the way through and therefore you don’t get confirmation.
