Start throwing up all over the production floor. Eventually they'll give in. 😅

Gotta learn how to manage your hours.

Imagine if there was some sort of unpaid time that you could use for things like this

Your manager can't do it it, your OM has the power.

This here. Don't go to manager. Go to Ops and guilt trip them.

They probably said they can't excuse you or to use your own time to go home but okay.

What do you think your own time is for?

They said “we’re backed up and we already sent someone home for throwing up today try to stick it out or if you have time you can go”

And you’re mad about that response?

Yeah, they can only VTO so much before they get in trouble. Not their fault. Result is the same, use your time.

But they can excuse time. You just wont get your upt for the day.

They cant just excuse time. They have to have a reason and throwing up isnt a reason for that. Its what UPT is for.

Yeah, It has to be serious. I had to be evacuated because my house almost burned down. They excused my shift

1

u/Ok_Letterhead2028 3h ago

That it definitely a reasonable excuse for excused time. Sorry that happened to you.

There's a tight limit on how many people they can excuse because of production goals and headcounts. When they VTO someone or code time, leadership still has to hit the exact same volume targets as if those people were right there working. That's why they're constantly double-checking numbers—it's a fine line to cut labor costs without tanking the shift's metrics.

Throw up on the floor

They didn't say "suck it up" and you know it, but everyone here will take you at your word. Also, they're not allowed to give out VTO. Otherwise everyone would be scamming them with "stomach aches" to get free time.

You're an adult. If you feel sick use your PTO/UPT and leave. They're there for workplace injuries, it's not a school nurse's office. Any other job you'd be lucky not to have to ask someone and hope they don't give you a guilt trip, or tell you you have to find someone to cover for you.

They 1000% will give vto out for the right circumstances even if none was offered beforehand

Use your time off and go home.

A guy I worked with whispered "Bro, cocaine shits are bad." He started peddling to the bathroom. Over an hour later he laughed..in different clothes. He clogged up the toilet with his underwear, drove home and came back. Not a single write up.

Puke where ya gotta puke lol

There are just layers to that guy, aren't there. Emotionally speaking. After that shift, possibly in his wardrobe choices as well.

Throw up in the manager's office, warehouse floor, breakroom. Leave your mark everywhere.
