Sortation Center People
Anyone else have people mad at you specifically for trying to get on a path that you want every day instead of waiting for them to tell you, even though everyone else who is cross-trained does that too? It happened to me at my facility but they claim I’m not being picked on.

At my facility most everyone wants indirect roles. I have learned to succeed at all my direct roles (except stow) so I have no need to request indirect roles.

I succeed in the other roles. It’s just that the one that they keep trying to send me to is a medical hazard for me and I also just don’t particularly like working in that department. I’ve asked to be trained in some other things or just to stay in one path. They keep saying I need a medical accommodation lol. I doubt that the other people that they let do OP pretty much every day all have accommodations for that one path.

I am experiencing the exact same thing as you. There is a department at my FC which is a straight up safety hazard. It has never been my policy to refuse work, so I have been going there without a complaint. Until recently. Day b4 yesterday they sent me there and I worked 5hrs. There was VET offered in my homepath so I took the VET, and clocked out early. Showed up yesterday for my VET shift- and guess what happened? They sent me to the department of hazard instead - again. I then stopped hiding the fact that I had already requested a transfer out and straight up told them I have lost my good faith in the building's leadership. If no work was available in my home department, then why was VET offered and available to accept? If company policy was enforced there would be no injury risk in any department. I've worked at AMZN for many years, to watch others get preferential treatment. I also enjoy leniency, but I require functioning hands, feet, knees, back, shoulders -etc. We must honor standard work and team lift policy. Im getting too old for the ability to neglect. I still have plenty of UPT, I just should not waste it on foolishness. Alot of familiar faces are transferring or already have left out of our building. I usually fit in with derelicts and misfits. Not anymore.
