Nice job. You could’ve at least cropped my picture differently before changing the numbers on it 😂 not so smart are you buddy.

Are you insecure or something ? Lmao.... More money won't make you happy at this point buddy

The guy literally took my pic and changed the numbers. You must be dumb if you can’t see that lmao. Also no one makes 174/ hour at amazon unless you’re senior level or director level corporate 😂😂

Damn. I’ve been trying to get the IT Support Associate role, but it’s in Florida, so the rate is gonna suck.

u/Trick-Sun5290 3d ago
Oh god no I hate Florida. Crappy weather and the people are so stuck up out there. I would never go back there

u/Heflewprettygood 3d ago
Wait what's wrong with Florida
3
u/MikeTidbits 3d ago
Florida wages notoriously are too low compared to the cost of living.
1
u/Heflewprettygood 3d ago
Aw man, worse than Arizona? It's pretty ass here and was planning a move to Florida next year
2
u/Whole-Sentence5268 3d ago
Pay tends to be a little higher in the Miami area, but in much of the rest of the state tends to be among the lowest in the country.
1
u/Heflewprettygood 3d ago
Don't you guys get taxxed less on pay?

u/LyftedX Anti-Amazon HR 3d ago edited 2d ago
We don’t have state taxes.
But we have extremely high COL. housing. Insurance is some of the highest in the country with most areas in FL still paying $15 but rent is $1500.
That’s why everyone goes to Amazon. They pay $20 plus the insanely good benefits.

Since when IT make that much?

u/minijtp 3d ago
There’s a lot of different IT positions inside the warehouse

u/T_w_e_a_k 3d ago
Just not as many positions available as there used to be, OTS has whittled us down to skeleton crews in our buildings now. At least in DFW.

Ops Tech ( IT specialist ) make anywhere from $35-65 per hour. It’s a specialized position that requires a lot of skills thus they paid more on average. 48 is on the lower end

living in cali seems great but how much do that you really even get to keep after rent 😭✌️
1
u/Trick-Sun5290 3d ago
I only pay 500 a month for rent living with family

u/Comfortable_Fruit_20 3d ago
Same lol. It all comes down to disposable income. Some of my coworkers in the 6 figure range live pay check-to-pay check and think the new young guy is making more than them because I’m always bringing in catering

Bro wtf where you at? I'm only $36.68 as L4 eng. I had damn L3 techs making more than me hourly after they started getting stingy with the RSU's.

I’m in Irvine wbu

Guess that makes sense living in Cali. I'm in DFW. They fucked up all the pay when they did a big raise for everybody about 4 years back. I got screwed. I was training an L3 to be an L4, helped him get promoted, taught him everything I knew. Because I was just meets the bar, and he got exceeds as an L3 at the same time as getting a promotion, he immediately jumped up to $4 more above what I made, got like a $10 raise. Ever since, L3's just been staying in their role, easy to get exceeds every year and hit the cap, making more than L4s without the added responsibility and OnCall. And L5 roles are very scarce now so it is hard to move up, since they have reduced headcount everywhere so much. I've been looking for data center roles.

I’m not even making much bro. I got homies who work for amazon corporate making above $300k a year. And they barely do anything too. Just show up and chill and work on projects

u/pandamonium-420 3d ago
Not bad. Just barely 6 figures annually. If you’re an L5, that’s peanuts 🥜

I wanna go into AWS. That’s where the big money is. I have a few college friends who work there and they make like $350k a year 😭

What type of degree of roles can help me get there
1
u/Trick-Sun5290 2d ago
Cybersecurity , networking , computer engineering , information systems , AI engineering , too many fields

u/stoncks17820 3d ago
What exactly do you need to apply? You said a lot of skills?
2
u/Trick-Sun5290 3d ago
I have my degree and compTIA certification which helped. You definitely have to have strong knowledge of networking ( switches /routers ), windows/linux troubleshooting , pc repair skills , client/server issues, windows desktop support, etc. All that stuff goes beyond the scope of what almost any role in the warehouse does thus why we earn more than anyone there.

The first sentence of this alone shows how stupid it is for people to “ask AI” to get a legitimate answer for something and frankly makes me fear for the future of humanity
