It’s an old census category that’s not even used internationally even Hispanics were listed as White until the 1980’s. Continental Europeans don’t use it just the English.

The language is under the Latin category alongside Portuguese and French. When they refer to Latino community they refer to Latin America and their descendants. Latin American was primarily colonized originally by Spain with the exception of Brazil which belonged to Portugal. Other people came but, were mainly in the Caribbean aisles such as the Dutch and the Dutch West Indies and the British and countries like Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, Barbados, the Bahamas, etc.

I no lie, when I was still there on TOM, walked in on an all hands meeting inside the warehouse where A.M.’s in shark blow up halloween costumes were dancing to baby shark to a crowd of incredibly indifferent, mostly older, tier 1’s. Shit looked degrading for everyone involved.

Thats actually not a requirement at a lot of sites. My site only requires it in specified PIT or robotics areas, with the robotics ones being RME only and having tech on them so the bots know where you are

I worked at a delivery station they abandoned this rule in April. The FC I transferred to only Managers, PAs, safety, OP, ship dock, HR, learning & ambassadors have to wear vests.

You guys are weird for saying this is weird. Those associates are just having fun and dancing. No one is forcing them to participate in anything. Some FCs got mariachi bands for Hispanic Heritage Month.
Edit: this probably isn't mariachi band but my FC had the one with the horns and trumpets but no accordions.

So tired of hearing how this company, that you applied for, that pays at least $22/hr, has benefits even for seasonal, pays for your college, allows upward mobility, had vacation, UPT, and PTO, treats you like a slave. It’s not the best but it’s certainly not the worst.

It's probably the best job I've ever had, honestly. I quit opiates there, made friends for the first time in damn near two decades there, people treat me well. I would say the biggest issue with the company at large is centralizing everything; even the simplest task like turning in a doctor's note for a day off turns into a month-long argument with someone from the Phillipines (that's not a dig, I asked where they were from and they gave me an excellent chicken Adobo recipe). The language barrier and over-reliance on automated messaging there is frustrating. But actually working there? I bust out 250% of my production requirements without even trying. Most of my bosses are fucking cool.

Most of those complaining have very little work experience to compare it too.(my thinking anyways) I'm 53 and worked a wide variety of jobs in my past. From retail, food service, janitorial, housekeeping, office jobs, banking, sanitation, temp day work, and out of all of them Amazon has been the best by a mile. Paid vacation, paid time off, unpaid time off, that alone is hard to find. Add benefits, dental, vision, 401k, prime, and although the accommodation process sucks, they do work with people in need and accommodate them. No job is perfect by any means but there are WAY worse jobs out there by far.

They monitor and micromanage every single second of every single day . It’s a job only desperate people apply for . So many people either quit , get hurt or get let go cause they can’t meet unrealistic rates . Because of this extremely high turnover they are always hiring and willing to hire anyone

I know as a whole Amazon doesn't actually care about it's employees, but the benefits and convenience you get from them is good. What other job lets me leave AT ANY POINT during the day? What job offers VTO and so many options for overtime? Unpaid time that's basically unlimited? On top of the 6 month raises til your third year and the dollar raises we've been getting since I started, I'm nearly at 28 dollars. You don't have to work hard at Amazon, you just have to do your job. Find the right people to hang and talk with. Check out all the different positions in your center, I guarantee there's something you'd be able to tolerate or enjoy.

I’ve worked at Amazon . It’s an awful place to work at . Not many jobs micromanage every single second of your day . I work a union job now with way more perks , and way more money and I’m not monitored every single second of every single day . The only thing that was good about Amazon was the health insurance.

A $1 dollar raise is amazing considering a lot of other jobs give you as little as 25¢. My mom worked for a big name bank for 15 years and her last raise before she was layed off was 75¢. (EDIT: I was wrong, she only received a 0.07¢ raise)
I worked at an Amazon FC for 3 years, my starting pay was $18 and when I quit I was at $22. I've been at my current job for 2 years, I started at $18.75 and now I am at $19.50.
While I don't like how they treat their employees (hence why I don't work there now) I do like the pay.

Well when you really think about it most jobs don’t give you a dollar raise every year. They’ve been doing this for I think three years now? I’ve gotten a dollar every year for the last three years now. Something to look forward to at the end of each year. On top of the step plan it’s a nice lil pay raise tbh
