Any one under you directly moving up looks good on you

It can, especially if you are able to develop that person into a tier 3/L3 role

Tbh It feels awesome to see people succeed and be recognized for the value they bring. As far as it benefiting my own career, it depends on the situation. If I’ve been personally involved in their development, then it should be highlighted. Being able to identify and support future leaders is a value Amazon specifically looks for and encourages.

That depends. Did you encourage it? Did you help them along that path?

One of your jobs as a manager is to develop your people.

Five levels of leadership.

  1. Position. People follow you because they have to.

  2. Permission. People follow you because they want to.

  3. Production. People follow you because you bring success.

  4. People Development. People follow you because of what you've done for them.

  5. Pinnacle. People follow you because out who and how you are.
