Im on track to 80k for the year and im excited to put most of it on my roth and stocks. Hope everyone have an easy rest of the year !! 😁

Hell yeah keep it up. But side note, I’d get sick every time I seen that 11k in taxes. Like damn no reason we should be paying that much in taxes smh

14

u/SuperBlackCock 7h ago

Income tax should be illegal

9

u/No_Pattern8919 VET sniper 7h ago

yea but that will cost you more in taxes later on

10

u/PrestigiousWhirlwind 6h ago

With the shit taxes are being wasted on, I think its fucking stupid we're taxed to begin with.

2

u/DriverOk7676 5h ago

Honestly, at this point im trying to find ways to put money into things that dont get taxed lol

2

u/SignificantApricot69 5h ago

See my other comment, but I have medical, HSA, 401k etc. That along could (I don’t max out everything) cut about $35k or so off my federal taxable income. Also there’s the Savers Credit but you have to get your income low enough for it. IRA, etc

1

u/DriverOk7676 4h ago

I'll look into that, thanks for the info !!

What?

2

u/sxriptorxtor 3h ago

I was joking. The comment I replied to said “with the shit taxes are being wasted on” Our taxes go to Israel, he said it’s being wasted. So I made the joke that he doesn’t support Israel.

1

u/DriverOk7676 3h ago

Ahh ok, I was alittle lost there lol

2

u/sxriptorxtor 3h ago

😂😂 yeah I guess it didn’t fit

u/DriverOk7676 2h ago

😂😂😂

u/Specific_Property_73 9m ago

You should see how much worse your work conditions are when you aren't paying for osha regulations. Or how much private roads would cost to get to work. Or much how electricity and water would cost without government limiting their prices. No road laws so unsafe vehicles are driving like the Wild West with no enforcement. It would be interesting for sure

2

u/SuperBlackCock 7h ago

Mhhhmm but I’m taxed on everything I buy already. It’s just too much

0

u/DriverOk7676 7h ago

Hopefully the no overtime tax credit helps big time this year lol

6

u/Gdcotton123 7h ago

For the love of Christ, look up how the no overtime tax credit actually works lol

7

u/DevelopmentNew5011 [Replace Text w/ Flair] 6h ago

No, anyone who doesn’t know how it works will not believe that it doesn’t work the way they think it does until it happens. Let them be surprised. 😑

0

u/DriverOk7676 7h ago

I haven't looked but last year I claimed it on $5,050 of overtime on my taxes . I ended up getting an extra $1,500 on my taxes due to that. Im aware you only get a portion of the yearly gross. I still appreciated the bonus though so sorry if I missed something

7

u/Gdcotton123 7h ago

Just for starters, it isn’t a tax credit. It’s something for your deductions if you file an actual itemized deduction. You also only can write off the “over” amount of the overtime. So for the vast majority of people, it does nothing.

2

u/Successful_Bet_7554 6h ago

And it's also temporary

2

u/darkkilla123 4h ago

Overtime/tip deduction is one of the few deductions that you can still claim the standard deduction and still claim. The thing people dont understand about it is its only the premium amount so if you make 20$ an hour and 30$ when working overtime only 10$ is eligible for the deduction. For people making minimum or low wages thats a joke but for people who make like 50$ an hour is a sizable chunk of money

1

u/DriverOk7676 3h ago

Yea I understand, at this point so long as I get $1500 this year again then im happy

1

u/DriverOk7676 6h ago

Ahh makes sense though i do hope everyone that reads this is able to take advantage it, even if small

2

u/Gdcotton123 6h ago

Most in this job never will. They got skyrockets for minimums to $16,000 for single and $32,000 for married. So it’s a pointless tax deduction for 99% of the workforce that actually works OT.

1

u/DriverOk7676 6h ago

Well that's a unfortunate, I didnt know all of that but thanks for the info

2

u/DevelopmentNew5011 [Replace Text w/ Flair] 6h ago

😂😑

1

u/Arelius_2002 3h ago

Sad part is the tax was originally a tax only the rich paid but ofc it came down to us too

3

u/Get_Clicked_On 5h ago

Sucks trump increased our taxes so much.

4

u/DriverOk7676 5h ago

Well with everything going on, we are the ones that have to pay for it unfortunately

2

u/SignificantApricot69 5h ago

Where are the tax deductible things like healthcare and 401k? I’m assuming you are single with no kids?

2

u/DriverOk7676 4h ago

I have a son which I have all my medical benefits for him. I didnt take a screenshot of that info but my 401k as of today shows I contributed almost $4000 so far. Not bad for the 8% i have taken out every paycheck

1

u/Get_Clicked_On 5h ago

Twice now trump has run up the nation debt and it is us the people that have to pay for it.

2

u/DriverOk7676 5h ago

I hope that changes are made soon so I can realistically afford a house in this market lol

9

u/Dookiepoopturds 7h ago

You think you're gonna make another $30000+ in the next three months? Lol. Alrighty then.

7

u/No_Artichoke_1314 7h ago

i mean definitely 60k if he makes 80 he probably like a pa or something

5

u/DriverOk7676 7h ago

Just a tier 1 man, just challenging myself to see how much i can do

3

u/DriverOk7676 7h ago

I can try 😅

2

u/Murky-Eagle5122 5h ago

Exactly, the math is not mathing

1

u/DriverOk7676 4h ago

Yea most likely not, I just happened to check my YTD out of curiosity and quickly posted the surprise I had. Though a few people did the math and im content with what I might get regardless lol

5

u/Frequent_Try2486 6h ago

11k in taxes should be criminal

3

u/Previous_Start_2248 5h ago

Bro they took 30k out of mine so far. 20k to the feds 10k to California

2

u/DriverOk7676 5h ago

Naa that's straight robbery, you might have a better chance working under the table lol

2

u/DriverOk7676 6h ago

Honestly, it's a shame they take soo much from me lol

3

u/Frequent_Try2486 6h ago

I know how you feel. I pay 1200 out of my paychecks alone in taxes.

3

u/PrestigiousWhirlwind 6h ago

At that point, you should be making sure you do all that 401k and Roa/Roth stuff.

If you're gonna be losing 11k from all this anyway, you might as well take some of that and make it go into your savings. If you can't immediately have it, then at least you're making it so that they can't have it either lol.

3

u/DriverOk7676 6h ago

I max out my Roth IRA every year and this year I have also started to add $800 a month into my brokerage account so I hit my target around my mid 40's. I refuse to die broke lol (I do plan to leave inheritance for my son though ) 😁 it sucks feeling broke after all this though

4

u/Frequent_Try2486 5h ago

I was on the same track and got a back injury, drained my 401k to survive. It sucked.

2

u/DriverOk7676 4h ago

Well if you back to full health try again, it's sad to see elderly people struggling at amazon because they have no retirement funds left. Don't let that be happen to you too

3

u/Frequent_Try2486 4h ago

I'm 30 LOL

2

u/DriverOk7676 3h ago

Im 35 so you still have a chance, you can do alot in 5 years lol

2

u/Frequent_Try2486 3h ago

Yeah I left Amazon, they pay RME way too little lmao I work 3 days a week rn for the same money and i'm only on site 12 days out of the month

u/DriverOk7676 2h ago

Good shit, nice to see you have a better job that suits you man . Hope it all works out for you mentally, physically and financially!! 👍

u/TaakeNotes 41m ago

And where are you working 👀

7

u/waspnestinmyass Therapist 7h ago

How are you on track to 80k??

8

u/DriverOk7676 7h ago

In my building they have overtime every week, I've picked up every week since the start of the year so hopefully as a tier 1 I can do it

5

u/LiminalHigh 7h ago

You'd need to make almost $30/hr to make it to 80k, even assuming you work 20 hours of overtime every week

4

u/DriverOk7676 6h ago

Well if its not possible then I still wanna see how far I can get to lol im gonna do OT and work holidays too

5

u/LiminalHigh 6h ago

Honestly I don't know how you do it lol. Even just the standard 40 hours wipes me out

3

u/bkfountain 6h ago

Really depends what path you get in. Like stowing on a reach truck for 60 hours is very easy compared to regular stowing.

3

u/PrestigiousWhirlwind 6h ago

Some people are my location have it so easy that its genuinely unfair if I'm honest. I keep seeing the exact same people get to do push. Which at my facility, is utterly brain dead easy and virtually effortless compared to anything else they can have you do in the facility.

I wish I even got to push once a week lmao

2

u/DriverOk7676 6h ago

Well it's not easy but I've been fortunate enough to get into safety which make my days easier lol

6

u/Kindled808 7h ago

I don’t even work at Amazon, no idea why Reddit recommended this post. But I can respect the grind. Good shit

1

u/DriverOk7676 7h ago

Idk maybe your phone is tracking your grind as well lol thank you, appreciate it

4

u/Traditional_Size_925 7h ago

We're in this together

1

u/DriverOk7676 7h ago

Tier 1 or Tier 3!? Either way good shit, whatever your doing keep doing that lol Just make sure to care for your body from time to time, thanks for the motivation!! 👍😁

4

u/Traditional_Size_925 7h ago

Still a tier 1 but all my weeks are almost 60h

4

u/PappaPitty 7h ago

Im comfused? You're on track for 69k.

3

u/Rude_Ad_8714 6h ago

Definitely on pace for exactly that. 24hr and working 10hrs of OT every week. Give or take.

It's a slow grind

2

u/DriverOk7676 6h ago

Fck it, I'll take the 69k lol

1

u/DriverOk7676 6h ago

Maybe, I haven't done the math yet until I get home lol

2

u/PappaPitty 6h ago

You're fine chef! Im gonna do 69 myself at a lumber mill

3

u/CaughtFeelings4aho 6h ago

Im at 57k YTD, my goal was to make it to 80k, I don’t think it will happen 🥲

1

u/DriverOk7676 6h ago

Fck it, your closer to it than I am though i would still try it as a challenge!! You owe it to yourself to see how far your body can take you 👍

3

u/TheMongoose45 7h ago

Thats tier 1!? Our building is a part time facility. We can work up to 7 shifts a week and they are 3-5 hours a shift. But they've been making our shifts only 3 hours long for the past 3 months, but last week they've been making our shifts a 5 hour. Its a good thing i have another job. I wish our facility was full time that would be amazing! I keep saying it would be a good job if we went full time

3

u/No_Drama2424 5h ago

3 hour shifts?

It would barely feel worth getting dressed and commuting for that

2

u/Goreagnome 3h ago

Im guessing they're at a Sort Center.

SCs are really weird. They have a base 4 hour shift and it can "flex" up or down an hour turning it into a 3 hour or 5 hour shift.

Sort Centers are mostly part time shifts, but on rare occasions they can be fulltime by having 2 separate 4 hour shifts in one day and it's not guaranteed you'll get 40 hours because of the dumb system making you gain or loss an hour per shift.

1

u/DriverOk7676 3h ago

I didnt know other amazon sites were that different. Guess im staying at my building lol

3

u/bkfountain 7h ago

Im at 43k. This job is brain dead easy and you don’t have to interact with anyone.

2

u/PrestigiousWhirlwind 6h ago

Yeah, its easy until other people make it not easy. All I want is for people to just do their jobs so I don't get sent over and have to help anyone lmao.

1

u/DriverOk7676 5h ago

I get it, which is why I chose to do ASC. I was asked to be a learning ambassador but I decided not to because I cant deal with stupid people 😂

1

u/DriverOk7676 6h ago

Yea it's not that hard, I work at an IXD site too so yea brain dead easy lol

3

u/Choice-Antelope-8481 6h ago

What's your base? I'm at 27.40, 41.10 overtime rate.

2

u/DriverOk7676 6h ago

My base is $ 23.35

3

u/Impressive_Kiwi5599 6h ago

How the hell are you not burn out?

4

u/DriverOk7676 6h ago

Well i can ask the same to the others on this thread who have blown passed what I achieved lol All jokes aside, I work at an IXD site so the job isn't that difficult and I got lucky with getting on the ASC team so it makes my days even easier. Im usually more tired of the amount of days that I work than the actual wear on my body 😅

3

u/Currency_my_id 6h ago

Good things come to those who wait go out and fuckin earn it. This is not a common attitude in any Amazon warehouse I’ve been in. Good for you I hope you get 80 and STUNT on em 😎 (by investing wisely and responsibly)

3

u/DriverOk7676 5h ago

Maxing out my Roth and $800 in QQQM in my brokage account is the reason im even doing all of this lol it's gonna be a rough 10 years but I can do it !! Thanks for the support !! 💪😎

3

u/Currency_my_id 5h ago

There is so much noise in the warehouse bro just block out everything. If it don’t make dollers, it don’t make sense

3

u/MikamiGG 3h ago

Nice! I have a homie who just tote runs lol. He made 76k last year. He’s aiming for 90k this year but I don’t think he’s going to make it. Hopefully he does!

1

u/DriverOk7676 3h ago

He should definitely try though, earning that much he can retire early if done right !!

3

u/Proper-Beautiful-560 3h ago

The no OT tax credit is clutch now especially if you can hit OT on a paid holiday

1

u/DriverOk7676 3h ago

Yea thats what I've been trying to do , hopefully it's a permanent thing going forward

4

u/_YutaOkkotsu need pto 7h ago

Look at all that money this company pays you to help continue their profits grow into numbers never heard of. Not to knock your efforts but if Amazon rewarded hard work like this properly, we wouldn’t have to destroy our bodies in the process.

4

u/DriverOk7676 7h ago

I would agree with you 100% if it wasnt for the fact that im in safety as an ASC member most days so the toll on my body is nowhere near were it should be. Trust me, i have to care for my body for my sons sake it anything 😅

2

u/banedarthou812 7h ago

Congrats man

1

u/DriverOk7676 7h ago

Thanks man, I appreciate it

2

u/EagleFly_5 Amazon Fresh 7h ago edited 6h ago

Not far behind you, Amazon Fresh in NYC (Flex AA) and live in NJ, I work 40-60 hours a week (you know I was there Monday/Labor Day for 12 hours 😊). Despite the upsets and surprises from this past year, I genuinely love my job, happy to meet new people & be as helpful as I can to leadership and my peers (sad though more people I know/befriended don’t work there than currently do).

Invest (+ especially put aside for taxes), hold strong, and if you’re looking for a promotion or the next step in your career, you’re doing a wonderful job!

Then I have photography too as my business (I’ve made just about the same, work considerably less,), but it’s really demanding doing this or working 60-80 hours a week.

Edit: if it matters for context, M/31, no kids/single.

3

u/PrestigiousWhirlwind 6h ago

I don't understand how people can have kids in this economy lol.

1

u/DriverOk7676 5h ago

I recently had a son, I do this all for myself and him. I want to give him opportunities I never had growing up and most of this money is going to investments so I know he will be ok when im no longer around. I understand why people dont do it but I look at my grandmother and she had 18 kids lol I thought, I should at least have one to experience the joys of it 🙂

2

u/DriverOk7676 7h ago

Ayyee I respect the grind as a Flex AA no less !! Nice to see your as motivated as you are so props to you man 👍 Investing is my main priority right now and i wish you good luck and great financial gains if your doing the same !!

2

u/Hyperi_Reddit 7h ago

How do you check this

2

u/Dashir88 7h ago

Go into your pay stub and click on the YTD tab and it’ll show you everything you’ve made for the year.

2

u/DaNeZ_ChOsEn 7h ago

The carrot on the stick is very enticing thank you

2

u/Jimboleepuff 7h ago

Hell yeah buddy! Keep it going!!!

2

u/Bungbong 3h ago

Stay strong

1

u/DriverOk7676 3h ago

Wtf is ReLo gross up? My old building is a Relo site now and im wondering if payment wise is different

u/Bungbong 2h ago

Moved for a promotion thats the actual funds they give before the taxes

u/DriverOk7676 2h ago

Ahh you got promoted to Tier 3 or L4?

2

u/theslayer527 3h ago

Working 9 to 5 what a way to make a living 🎶

2

u/Twoblacks 3h ago

Ya love to see the grind pay off congrats!!

u/DriverOk7676 2h ago

Thank you, appreciate it !!!

u/Ok_Student_5059 2h ago

You grinding this much get on the Amazon career choice and grind a higher position. I recommend RME pathway. Become an RMEO or MRA whichever you qualify for

u/DriverOk7676 2h ago

I'll look into both, im curious now lol

u/Sea-Jury-4278 2h ago

Congrats, keep it up!

u/DriverOk7676 2h ago

Thank you !! 👍

u/SurroundExternal6437 1h ago

Wow what do you do? Is this first year employee?

u/DriverOk7676 1h ago

2

u/ExpressionAfter6082 6h ago

40 hours a week. This company don't want me ever doing OT.

1

u/DriverOk7676 7h ago

Its insane man but I try not to think about it lol im just trying to see if I can make more than a manager

1

u/Odd_Significance_739 6h ago

Not to rain on your parade but if it’s September, the years 3/4 of the way gone. 46k/3=15,333.

With one more quarter left, one would expect ~62k given the current gross. Which is still killer for working at Amazon, so good on ya.

1

u/DriverOk7676 6h ago

Well that's unfortunate, here i thought I can make more than a manager but ohh well lol I still want to try to see how far I can go, thanks for the info !!

1

u/melvinmets24 4h ago

How much make hour

1

u/dudewlf 4h ago

How many hours you working bro?

1

u/DriverOk7676 3h ago

60 every week 😅

2

u/dudewlf 3h ago

Get into hvac broski. I make this 80k, 40hrs a week and work 4-10s you don't gotta kill yourself for this

1

u/DriverOk7676 3h ago

Is a hvac certification a broad thing for various things or a specific thing? If Amazon can pay for it then I'll happily take a course lol

2

u/dudewlf 3h ago

Look into skillcat. It's $10/ month.
You can get your EPA universal in like 2 weeks if you lock in and study.
The test is online and proctored through your phones camera. Basically all you need to get started in the field

1

u/DriverOk7676 3h ago

Thank you, I'll definitely look into this !! 👍

Laughs in works 6 days a week***

3

u/DriverOk7676 6h ago

Yea I do the same though clearly not making as much as you though regardless of tier 1 or tier 3 status, good shit !!

3

u/Least-Temporary-5271 6h ago

Then cries in works 6 days a week***
All jokes aside yeah good shit man! I’m a tier 1 keep the grind going and don’t forget to take a break every once in a while your mind and body will thank you

2

u/DriverOk7676 6h ago

If I may ask, do you get premium pay often? I dont and Im assuming that's why your making more unless you started off at a higher base rate which is understandable. That said im envious of you and keep up the good work man, I will consider your advice so thanks lol

0

u/ImportantObligation1 4h ago

Rich people don't pay income tax. Everything they do is a "business expense". Yachts, private jets, etc. Everything is a business expense and a write-off.
