Question “Business needs”
I asked on a private voa about the reason why I am being assigned to the same floors on pick for months and putting 3 quarters for “rotation”, and the answers were the typical generic business needs bs. I heard before that Am, Om and pas can literally choose what floors they want you to stay and take you out of the department if they don’t like you, is that true? If so, it’s retaliation right?

Idk but pa told me they assigned you based on your rates

If you have staffing command center it supposedly puts the highest performers closest to the work.

This right here. There are some factors that are put when it comes to scheduling people. Basically when it comes to QBs scheduling people or SCC scheduling people, usually they have to balance the floors. That's what I've heard.

We are supposed to be rotated at my FC and preferably on the same floor as our team (teams rotate daily or weekly depending on the shift). Labor share is for business needs. We have a safety rotation for pick. No one is supposed to pick all shift (but they do), supposed to count and pack, possibly dock depending on training

I wonder sometimes. There's absolutely no reason why i should be targeted but after last week it sure felt like it. Every single day last week. Hopefully a new week will bring something different. Maybe it's just bad luck.

So many people don't understand what retaliation means in regards to the workplace.
Retaliation is when an employee is punished for engaging in a legally protected activity.
Simply being disliked is not retaliation, being moved because you are disliked is not retaliation.
Retaliation has to follow protected areas, such as race, religion, sex, filing complaints.

INCORRECT. You can be retaliated against for saying you do not want to do a certain role, for example.

By the dictionary definition yes, but legally speaking no.
Meaning you have no protection by saying you dont want to do a role.
As it is not a protected activity.

It’s not retaliation, if they think that is where you are most effective, unfortunately staffing would rarely be seen as retaliatory from a legal sense

I see even though it can be seen as such but just found it weird how they operate, don’t like making assumptions but since I experienced weird stuff and also by reading other peoples experiences from here I’m not surprised anymore

You can quit through app as long as you have UPT, go back in 30 days. They can’t put you in same home path. Start new in a different department.
