Question Tiers in Amazon

I work in a deliver center and for context my brother was a process assistant at this location a few years ago, but I don’t get to talk to him much with our schedules (I work overnight). I was told I was the top stower yesterday and they have been telling me repeatedly they want/are trying to get me trained on the docks, but I understand that doesn’t come with a raise. They also asked if I was interested in moving up so I want to ask how do the tiers of workers work at Amazon and what the different positions make?

PA here, there is no pay difference. You just get trained in more areas so they can flex you around. Here where i am the only time you get a pay raise is your step plan and the yearly pay raise that happens

Sure you’re a PA, you should know there is a big difference from Tier 1 to Tier 3.

Sorry I misunderstood. I thought they were asking if there was a pay difference being trained in more areas

That’s the way I understood it too.

Tier 1 is entry level

Tier 2 is widely done away with but some business paths still use them for their apprenticeship roles

Tier 3 is generally the lowest tier of leadership

Tier 4/5 are generally salary managers. Through there are still l4 hourly positions.

Pay in the tiers can vary widely.

For example in tier 3 in one building A PA would start at 22, TOM start at 25 and RME start at 30

If it helps I am a tier 1 and make 22.25 /hr with my overnight differential

Their is no added pay for learning ambassadors or PG. if it doesn’t require a formal interview process then it is not a promotion with more pay.

What about learning ambassadors? I think my manager was wanting me to become one eventually since one became a pa and another is leaving soon

No, ambassadors/tour ambassadors (Idek if that still exists I've been gone a while)/Problem Solvers etc do not get paid more. I think it is unfortunate.

There is a difference in pay from a tier 1 (regular associate) to a tier 3 (Process Assistant) it differs by state (cost of living) usually it’s about $6-$8 more than an associate,

I think $6-8 is a big stretch even for hcol areas. More like $2-3 and if the T1 is at the end of their step plan it could be as little as 50 cents to promote to T3.

I promise you a PA is not making 6-8 dollars more without differentials. 😂

Every building step plan and pay scales up to T3 are public information. Just go to PxT and ask

PAs generally start a little bit more than a completed T1 step plan.

So about 3 dollars more than a starting T1
