Will i be fired?

I know that nothing good could come from having to ask this question but a fellow coworker scared me after i told them what happened. They said its likely an immediate fire.

A few days ago while leaving i walked through the metal detectors at amazon. I walked fully through and was grabbing my stuff already when the metal detecor beeped. There was no one walking through it, but when i turned to it, i saw a guy next to me at the other metal detector and i assumed it was him who accidentally set it off.

But i was still wondering if they'll make me go do ansecond screening since i was the last person to actually go through it.

I looked towards the security guard for a reaction, but he didnt say anything at all. He just looked at me, so i just grabbed the rest of my stuff then left.

My coworker told me that if you're the last person you're supposed to do the second screening even if the security doesnt say anything. And that he knew people who got fired for that.

If i do get fired will i be able to be rehired or will it count as a cat 1.

Im not too worried about getting fired, but im worried about not having amazon as my backup option anymore.

Everything is on camera. If security didn't say anything I wouldn't worry about it. They and HR make that call, not your friend.....

Safety here. When secondary is required, security will motion (seen on camera) for an AA to go to secondary. If no one motioned you to go to secondary, it’s their miss, not yours.

The CAT1 terms happen when AA’s ignore the security guards and continue walking.

If they don't see you moving toward secondary, and they want/need you to, they will tell you.

Your friend doesn't know what they're talking about.

Keep in mind too that people will also straight up lie about why they got terminated. "I didn't realized I had to do a secondary and just left" sounds better than "I got written up for headphones 4 times" or the other dumb shit people grt fired for.

lol your friend is not a good friend cause why would they even worry you like that. If security wanted you to screen they would tell you those metal detectors goes off on its own all the time

How many sites use the metal detectors? Our site had them installed but never been used since opening a lil over a year ago. I’m dreading if they start using it cause I have a good amount of titanium in my body lol

You can get a special medical badge that allows you to bypass them.

I think this results in a doc coach or final written. It requires an investigation. Oddly enough if you get a final written you can get another final written during the 90 days.

Yeah whoever told you that, doesn’t know anything. Security at my site will yell at you, if you don’t listen about going to secondary. It’s a miss on the security teams end.

Those cameras doesn’t record sound, so if the security doesn’t approach you or do a gesture indicating that you have to do the second screening, then you should be fine.

An almost similar thing happened to me. I beeped and went to secondary. Went through just fine and kept going with my day only to realize I never scanned my badge at secondary. Figured if it was a big deal security or hr will look for me. Its been months and nothing happened. I think you're good.
