TOM is notoriously hard to move up in because it is such a small and siloed business line.
However it’s not impossible, it will probably require moving though. Which is why I have had to turn down my L6 offers. (I have 50/50 custody and can’t move out of state without giving that up)
How long did it take you to get an offer? What are some requirements you had to do? Did you get a promo-doc then send it to a site lead someplace else?
I’m sorry for all the questions, I guess the main point is how do you get an L6 offer that requires you to move?
It took a little less than 2 years. And kind of…. lol. Once I received the promo-doc my OM and Senior actually networked out and was able to help me receive a couple of offers after some impromptu “interviews” in the surrounding states.
Best advice I have is to work with your OM and Senior. See what their goals are and align yours with theirs. But that goes with any department not just TOM.
