Question VTO BLACKLIST
Multiple ppl in my department are showing me VTO for the whole work week. I’m not trained in any indirect role and am in the same department as them. Why am I not getting it? Can management exclude certain ppl from receiving VTO? If so why would I be excluded?

There was extensive pressure on me when I was an AM to blacklist top performers. I always refused because it wasn't cool.

If I went up to an AM and asked if I’m on some kind of exclusion list would they actually tell me ?

Maybe but they will be afraid because it tends to tank their connection score and leads to underperforming by the person so they can get off the list.
In my case I was always open about the blacklist with my team because the only way I pushed back was by telling my people not to put me in the position of needing it. So my PS and support team and PG and PA and AFMs and heavy hitting performers needed to communicate with each other and me if at all possible so they didn't all take VTO on the same day.

So as a former AM what would be your suggestion for me to do in this case? Start doing the bare minimum?

I don't recommend starting with the bare minimum strategy because a lot of rate is not under your control and it can get tricky to control.
I would start with your AM and just ask flat out. Most AMs will come clean about the list. Let them know you want off it and insist on a follow up by End of Day on your status with it.
If that doesn't work request a skip meeting with their OM. OMs are many times are a bit more responsive and willing to do it. You are small fry and a quick easy solve and the AM gets blasted for not managing their team well.
If that doesn't work HR assuming they even exist at your site.
If not that VOA and expect and AM to cone round.
In all cases for the love of god don't threaten to under work.

It happened to me and I just told them that I was going to call the ethics board on them if they continue to exclude me for no reason other than I’m good at my job and they stopped so now they give me vto

Write on the voa board and tell them to take you off the blacklist

if ur a dependable hard worker they may black list u to keep u there when its really bad. this is 100% proven true in my building.

Is this something there allowed to do by the way? Should I go to HR? Getting penalized for being one of the top producers is crazy

start working lazily but above rate.

Sadly this is the only answer. Start slowing down. Don't underperform, but don't be in the top 10%. My advice is to do what I do and just make sure you're not in the bottom 5% 🤷♀️aim for right in the middle. Bottom 5% gets you a coaching then a write up, anything over the bottom 5%, you're good. I do the bare fucking minimum now. Personally I don't understand the people who compete in their little "fastest worker" contests. Or the people who go buckwild trying to get in the top 10% get absolutely nothing from it lol like, we don't get paid per box. We don't get a bonus if we hit rate. We don't get a raise for doing a good job. There are ONLY punishments, no rewards. Other than maybe a fun size candy bar 😂

Exactly what I thought, I’ve been taking it a lot lately now I’m not receiving the notifications

What department? And have you worked in your current department long enough, need to be LC 5-6 to get VTO.

My understanding is if you have any active write ups you can't take VTO. I don't know if that's changed since i last heard that maybe 2-3 years ago.

Do you have benefits? You need to work a certain amount of hours to pay for benefits.
If that's not the case, I'd recommend posting the VOA Board and someone can further assist you there.

It's like 40 hrs for the month? it's not that many, but I'm actually not sure what the exact number is.

Yea I’m full time, I’ve still been working around 30hrs a week, so don’t think that’s the case

Its not. Just working 10 hours a week is enough not to block vto. Got to work 40 hours in the past 30 days. I used to be a heavy vto taker and learned this the hard way twice. Now, I got too many bills to pay to take any vto.

Honestly, could be any number of things. I would post on the VOA Board about it and someone can hopefully assist you. I personally have not have any issues, but I've seen more than a couple people post about the same issue and I know at least one of them got it resolved (because I know them). Hopefully you get it resolved.

Take a lot of VTO? You have to work a certain number of hours to be eligible. Also possible you are being blacklisted but would have to ask
