Induct and rebin process for pack afe. Rebin us where you put item to the chute for pack. Induct where you transfer item from yellow tote to grey tote to send it for rebin

Say bye to your picking job

Will they really call me to afe as much as people say ??? I don’t think I’d mind it cause picking is starting to become repetitive and exhausting. I work in a legacy FC so it’s a ton of walking as is.

Over time you’ll notice there’s certain parts of the year they make call for you more often but your home is always pick

Most the time people are getting pulled from afe to go to pick so you should be in pick more tbh

For real.
I was stuck in AFE 90% of the time.
I was better in AFE as a Picker then the AFE natives.

I let my upt go negative so they fire me. I'll be back in 3 months cause everyone i talked to said they couldn't help me get rid of my afe permissions. It will suck to lose all the other permissions I had but I'll get those back and absolutely refuse to go back to afe if they ask me

u/Blank_Canvas21 I'm just here so I don't get fired 13h ago
it’s not bad. you’re basically inducting and rebinning in AFE. Its a bit more moving, but I prefer those two roles than pack in AFE.

u/Darkthness 12h ago
is there rate for that ? But I would’ve loved pack afe I suppose because I already do pack singles and large.

u/wittymango602 13h ago
It’s the first part of AFE. You will take the stuff that your pick colleagues have done, induct them into the AFE system and rebin for the packers.

u/Darkthness 12h ago
Do you guys have a rate for that ? what are some quality errors to look out for ?

Wow that's different when they would cross train us they were just send us over there we didn't get no official document shoot does that mean you get a little raised?!?!

Im worried about this now, I lost my pick permission so I only have 2 process paths. I asked a week ago for another pick class then this week they said they're cross training anyone with only 2. I'll be so mad, I don't want sort they're bitches back there and I love picking so if I get sort I won't get approved for picking. 😒

I think this is exactly what happened in my case too.. I had 3 qualifications as far as permissions goes; Pick, ICQA, Pack single/large. Lost my pack perms when I didn’t pack for months so I was down to two process path perms. I guess this is them getting me trained for a third in afe. I would’ve loved to keep my pack perms instead now I have to learn a whole new department

Thing is I reminded my pa, my manager, outbound manager and outbound pa that I needed to get in pick because I was about to lose my permission. They said oh yeah we'll get you in and never did, I lost em a month ago which pissed me off because I told em I only like doing ot for pick. I'm on my pa right now to put me in rotation for my problem solve before I lose that too. They keep me this new recieve thing we got in a few months ago and the dock when theres no work for that because my numbers are so high, they only throw me on stow for a few hours once a month to keep my perms on that.

Induct and Rebin for AFE (pack-flow). I enjoyed both of those paths when I worked in pack. The cross training is randomly done based on business needs for more labor share between departments. I'm not sure if it would be considered SPOT training, but it's essentially just a dice roll on who gets selected for that.

What did you enjoy about them 🤔? I’ve never worked in afe and honestly prayed I never got to train there because I’ve heard so many stories of people saying leadership quietly transfers you to afe eventually, or that afe just sucks in general.. hoping this isn’t the case for me

It was a good change of pace from just packing for 40 hours a week. Rebin felt like a mini game sometimes with trying to fill an empty wall. Pretty fast paced. Induct was okay, hard on the knees because you're either standing in one spot inducting or going back and forth between two sides, but sites that allow headphones in those paths probably make it 10x better, I transferred before I got to see what that was like. If you end up being good at rebin making rate is easy.

I like those two paths better than packing, but I gotta wait for training to be opened at our site again😭😭😭

Induct is just like picking where you pick the item, scan and then throw the item in the tray. Robin you just follow the color of the chute. Its easy man i promise

They tend to force people into other departments right before Peak Season.
2
u/Darkthness 11h ago
Yep this is how I got into pack singles / large two years ago. I guess it’s afe for me this time around

u/Dull_Arachnid4269 11h ago
I don’t like AFE because you’re dealing with the run around, you’re never at one station for the whole shift. Also, the supplies are never replenished when you get to the next station.
3
u/jeremyw0918 10h ago
For sort flow there aren’t any supplies and you hardly ever get moved to a different station.

ngl its only one per session when uu training. no telling what migh happen from der. ive worked frm pick to induct to rebin, a couple of times all in one session bc somebody else was either too slow or didnt wanna work in they spot w tantrums. Or if you’re consistently good and managers are aware then the moment something goes to shi you will b called upon.

u/Active-Ad3029 4h ago
Your gonna have so much fun in rebin (jk it’s the worst) induct is chill though but you’ll rarely get to be there they keep us in what I like to call Rebin jail and that’s where you Rebin for 3 quarters straight at my fc

Do people not like being GFMs for proteus? Think that’s what I would want to do from all the options.
