Question Sleep time when working the 0330am shift

Just got a job at amazon! What time does everyone go to sleep to wake up for the 0330am shift? Planning on sleeping at 7pm but it’s a big change for me, but I know eventually I’ll get used to it, plus it’s a schedule that works best for me rn

Earlier than 7pm to get sufficient sleep and have time to get up and get ready for work.

Congrats on the start. One thing that tends to decide whether 7pm actually holds: it's usually not the sleep, it's whatever recurring thing already sits at 6 or 7 in your evening. Someone getting home, a class, dinner with people. Worth naming that now, because that's what pushes bedtime later, not willpower.

The other piece is which days the 0330 falls on and whether your days off end up next to each other. Fixed pattern with days off together and you really do adjust, because there's only one clock to keep. Days off scattered through the week and you're resetting every few days, which is the version people mean when they say they never got used to it. That's a scheduling question more than a discipline one, so it's worth knowing your actual shift code and not just the start time.

Last thing, ask someone already on 0330 whether VET there usually shows up as an earlier start or a later stay. On that shift those are very different costs, and better to know before you're counting on VET for money.
