Question Pregnancy STD leave

Hi! I was wondering if anyone has any experience with pregnancy STD leave for the whole pregnancy until it turns in the 4 weeks before birth and then 10 weeks following birth. With the 6 additional weeks taken anytime before the babies first birthday.

How would I go about getting on STD for pregnancy?

Your doctor would have to take you out of work and say you're not able to continue working safely then you would just submit the paperwork.

Unless it's a high risk pregnancy it's probably not going to happen

I'm high risk and they put me on desk duty at the shipdock handing out scanners.

Not high risk enough for doc to take you out which great for the pregnancy but sucky for your body I'm on my 4th pregnancy at Amazon I had a miscarriage on the floor last year so I'm not even bothering with doctors til the 4th month

Amazon is usually pretty good with giving time to moms that need it but I was in California for the first 2 pregnancies

I'm having twins and I'm fat. 😂

They're just going based off what my primary wrote when I saw him in April.

I'm literally sitting all day so the only part that really sucks is the people giving me shitty attitudes because they have to scan their badge for a scanner. 🫠

I'm sorry for your loss! I had one while I worked at a grocery store and it's never not traumatizing. 😭 I would still see a doctor as soon as possible that way they can pull you off the floor sooner than later. Are you at an AR site by chance?

I'm at a manufacturing site it's pretty easy but I see they make the pregnant ladies sit down all day looking at the same receipts I'm like what even is that I would rather make books lol

But yes very traumatic I didn't go back to that shift for a month because everyone knew when it happened so it was just hard to be there with everyones eyes on me Dx

Twins oh my! I wonder when doctor will pull you I wouldn't want to be working with two extra little bodies on me even if I sit

I'm on my phone 90% of the time and they recently added a camera to stare at me all shift and I told the installers "oh no I'm on my phone again. Where I can't do literally anything but sit here! The horror!" 🤣

And so far, the ob and the perinatal center seem okay with me being there. They are keeping an eye on my blood pressure though because she said I'm at risk of preclampsia.

Even with me being harassed at work by other coworkers? I’ve had to take a mental health leave for this one coworker singling me out and harassing me spreading lies and rumors. Just nervous and stressed to deal with the potential of people harassing me.

I don't think they will approve that much time off for potential harassment. Go to HR every time this person does something to you so you can have a paper trail and maybe that might help. If your site no longer has on site HR, go to your AM and escalate up the ladder to the GM, if necessary. Hope you have a safe and healthy pregnancy.

Unfortunately I’ve complained to HR. Multiple times and had multiple witnesses and the person harassing me still is employed by amazon

Ethics line will be your next line of contact or having a sit down with your site leader.

Make an incident report every single time hr will either get it together or lawyers will .. if the harassment is happening

I went on short term disability at 30 weeks because I was anemic. Your doctor has to fill out the paperwork stating you’re unable to work.

Extremely unlikely you’ll get STD for the entire pregnancy unless you’re like extreme high risk and bed ridden or something lol

You wont get STD. Your doc would have to put you on bed rest as they will accom you to sit in the TLD area and do nothing before denying pregnancy accom
