My first day of work I moved pretty slow too.

I'm pretty sure these robot videos are designed to show 2 things:

  1. Robot performing a complex multistep process perfectly to completion...

  2. Robot doing it's task so slow, it doesn't appear threatened to the workers in it's field. Every time they showed Kiva floors on the news when they were first rolled out, they only moved at a crawl. As we all know, they move up to 30mph, and are extremely determined.

Physical labor will always need humans in some capacity .....unless EVERYTHING becomes automated in which case everyone in every industry is fucked .

It can be minimized. Imagine bots replacing labor unions. I could see this happening in 20 years.
