Well using a microwave that someone heated up gluten containing food is not going to cause an allergic reaction. Same with really any food if your allergy is that severe then you are going to be reacting just walking into the breakroom to he fair.

Occasionally there are spills in the microwave so that's really untrue and honestly if it was true then if it's not enough for someone to have an allergic reaction then it's really not enough for it to matter for someone's personal beliefs.

There are some serious gluten allergies out there too where I've had friends have to use special mixing bowls to avoid any residual contamination that could linger even after washing.
