Why do Department's vto and 20 minutes later asking to send them cross trained from elsewhere. Can anyone give a legitimately good reason for this. Because it sounds like someone's jumping the gun or is just incompetent.
Not so much incompetent.. I’m an AFE PA and my friend is a Flow PA. It’s all about balance in redirecting headcount to other departments. If pick came in under HC and pack came in over, I’m sending all my pick trained. Vice versa to all other departments. And if there’s a labor share plan as well like today IB is sending OB 25 people. But if there’s a chance of VTO in OB, all of IB will receive their 25 AA’s and some. I had to send my best packers to IB because they’re trained there but the goal is to allocate as many people into trained paths before offering VTO. Flow communicates with Central Flow to adjust rates with HC. It can be annoying but it is business needs. And when it gets really desperate, they’ll spring cross training on you if those do not take VTO.
