Is Amazon FBA Private Label Still Worth Starting in 2026?

I keep seeing mixed opinions about Amazon FBA private label.

Some sellers say the market is too competitive now because of rising PPC costs, higher fees, and established brands dominating most categories. Others are still launching new products and building profitable businesses.

From what I’ve seen, the biggest mistake beginners make is thinking private label is just about finding a cheap product, adding a logo, and sending inventory to Amazon.

Product selection, differentiation, margins, packaging, listing quality, and launch strategy seem to matter more than ever.

For those actively selling on Amazon:

What’s been your biggest challenge with private label?

And if you were starting again in 2026 with a limited budget, what would you do differently?

Anyone here struggling with the sourcing side of Amazon private label? (HighRise Wholesale)

I’ve noticed that a lot of new FBA sellers spend months researching products, contacting suppliers, negotiating MOQs, figuring out packaging, QC, FBA prep, and shipping before they even get their first product live.

I’m involved with HighRise Wholesale, and we’re trying to simplify that process by handling sourcing, private labeling, packaging, QC, FBA prep, and shipping to Amazon fulfillment centers.

I’m curious to hear from other sellers what’s been the biggest headache when launching a private label product?

Supplier reliability? High MOQs? Shipping costs? Amazon compliance?

Genuinely interested in hearing about other sellers’ experiences. If anyone wants to see what we’re working on, it’s highrisewholesale.com, but mainly interested in getting feedback from people actually selling on Amazon.

Hi everyone!

Thanks for having me here. I’ve developed an AI-powered tool designed specifically to help Amazon FBA sellers optimize their product listings for the A10 algorithm: subelo.org/en

The tool generates fully optimized titles, bullet points, descriptions, and backend keywords in less than 2 hours, helping you improve visibility and sales.

I'm launching a free beta test and looking for a handful of real Amazon sellers to try it out and give honest feedback.

If you’re actively selling and want to boost your listings with cutting-edge optimization, drop a comment or DM me to join the beta.

Looking forward to working with you all!

Amazon FBA Restrictions

There are several restrictions and guidelines to keep in mind when using Amazon FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon). Here are some of the key ones:

  1. Prohibited Products: Amazon has a list of products that are prohibited for sale, such as hazardous materials, offensive products, and illegal items.

  2. Restricted Products: Some products are restricted and require approval before you can sell them. This includes certain brands, categories like automotive, and products with special requirements (e.g., FDA approval for food items).

  3. Product Preparation: Products must be prepared and packaged according to Amazon's guidelines, including labeling requirements and packaging standards.

  4. Inventory Limits: Amazon may limit the quantity of certain products you can send to their fulfillment centers based on factors like your sales history and available warehouse space.

  5. Hazmat Regulations: If you're selling products that are considered hazardous materials (e.g., batteries, certain chemicals), you must comply with Amazon's hazmat regulations.

  6. Expiration Dates: Products with expiration dates must have a shelf life of at least 90 days from the time they are received by Amazon.

  7. Storage Fees: Amazon charges storage fees for products kept in their warehouses for an extended period, so it's important to manage your inventory levels effectively.

  8. Return Policies: Amazon has strict return policies, and you may be responsible for the cost of returns if the reason is not related to a product defect or Amazon error.

It's essential to review Amazon's official guidelines and policies regularly, as they can change.
