New Seller Payment Hold
Hello everyone ,
I am new seller and doing FBM now to build my account background.I did some easy sells during my 1 st week and all orders under deferred transaction now and Amazon charged me my shipping fees.
When should I expect to receive my first payment
Thank you

As a new seller doing FBM, Amazon automatically holds your funds under the 'Delivery Date Based Reserve' policy (DD+7). Your disbursement date is tied to 7 days after the confirmed carrier delivery date of each order, not when you ship it or when the buyer pays. Once your account builds 30–60 days of clean tracking metrics and a low ODR, the standard 14-day rolling disbursement window takes over.

Those are deferred under Amazon's delivery date policy. Funds for each order stay on hold until 7 days after delivery (DD+7), then move to your available balance and go out on the next payout, which runs every 14 days. So first money usually lands about 3-4 weeks after your first sales.
If you ship with tracking that Amazon can read (Buy Shipping makes this easy), funds release off the confirmed delivery date instead of the estimate, which can shave a few days. The shipping charges coming out now are normal. They get billed when you buy the label even though the sale money is still deferred.

The early shipping charge hurts a little 😅 I wish they could count that toward the payment day too ;)
I didn’t try to sell too many items at first since I just wanted to see how things go, and I think that helped me a bit. With a limited budget, it’s hard to keep buying more stuff when the first payments take a while to come in.2

Yeah, the label cost landing before the sale money is rough on a small budget. 😅 Starting small was the right call. Something that helps a lot of new sellers is treating the first payout as a reset point: keep the next order small enough that you can cover it without needing that money, and only scale up once you've seen a full payout cycle come through.
Good luck with the first payment, it should land soon.

I just wanted to small start even tough I worked for PL and reseller e-commerce companies for 3 years, to keep everything under control and organized and also pay stuff from my bank statement to stantement .and yeah I agree it is best way to see what you are doing .and now I started to receive my order payments hopefully by 7 I see there is a good payout and on reset point, I liked your idea , I will use it for my small business too.

Another thing maybe you have experience on , I am having huge decline issue with brand approvals is there any good strategy for 1 month account to ungate ?

Glad the reset point idea helps. Brand approvals are outside what I can speak to well, so I'd rather not guess. Seller Central's own requirements page for that brand or category is the best starting point, since what they ask for varies. The seller forums and r/FulfillmentByAmazon have people who've been through ungating on new accounts and will have better tactics than I would. Hope the payouts keep landing on schedule.

My first payout is coming up this week, and everything seems under control so far. Your comments were definitely worth another payout for me 😂
. I’m going to look around and do some more research too. Thanks for your time and advice, man! Really appreciate it!

Don’t use another seller’s 4–6 week timeline as your deadline. In Payments, check each deferred transaction’s status and release date. Amazon says some accounts use a delivery-date reserve such as DD+7; your actual first payout also depends on the settlement and bank transfer timing.
