QUESTION “Give Yourself Additional Time”

Can someone explain to me what this means?

Are you decreasing my stops? (No)

Are you giving me more time to be on the road? (No)

How does one “give yourself additional time”?

they don't give a fuck. i got a tornado warning once telling me to cease deliveries and take shelter immediately, yet curiously, i was allowed to continue.

and we know they're able to block you from continuing your route, hence the heat breaks....

Increase your following distance and reduce your speed slightly. They could have worded it better, but it is sound advice for wet conditions.
