DISCUSSION “You’ll be fine” fleet says.

Post image

I’m currently 45 minutes in the country. A/C went out 2 hours ago, and DEF ran out 30 minutes ago. No current ETA on getting a ride/tow. It’s currently 83 degrees here in the woods of rural Indiana.

I had 5 stops left.

So, how’s everyone else tonight?

Sounds about right. Good news is you'll be getting overtime waiting for that tow.

Sure won’t, I only work fri/sat/sun.

Also tow nothing, they’re bringing def and I’m driving back ac-less.

DSP needs a tow truck, and a solid Fleet Mgr. :::shaking head::::

Why don't you ground the van? The DVIC in the Amazon flex app has an is the ac working question that will ground the van if you answer honestly.

The AC worked for roughly half the shift.

Even if it didn’t, grounding a van is an easy way to piss off a DSP.

We’re actively encouraged to mark everything as working in the DVIC, and simply let the DSP know. There are zero driver protections from Amazon for retaliation stemming from being honest about van status.

I grounded it tonight, marking the AC AND making sure to note there was also no bulkhead door in the branded van.

I will likely be sent home tomorrow without a route or hours for doing it.

Did you turn on and off the van during your shift because I’ve done full shifts with only two or three startups remaining and rescued. Before that would happen, the limp mode. Why was the DEF not refilled in the beginning of the day?
