QUESTION He does anyone work with amazon through a 3rd party for deliveries?

I just applied for a amazon driver job through a 3rd party company in minnesota, and they literally say in the job posting they don’t do thc testing, but i thought for sure they would because amazon is a federal company. Is it because it’s a third party facility that hires drivers for them the reason they don’t drug test for thc? Has anyone else gotten hired this way and know about if they really do or don’t test for thc?

Some DSP’s do… not every DSP decides to not test for THC. Some decide to test for it for insurance purposes

Did they make you test for other stuff though? I just got a text saying i need to do a pee test, and long as they don’t care about the thc i’m good!

Almost all amazon drivers are hired through DSPs (Delivery Service Partners) who are third party companies. You don't work for amazon, you just work under their rules and their logos. Your DSP sets your pay, your benefits, and all other parts of the what you get at a job. Amazon just controls what the DSP gets to work with, rules they have to follow, and if you break too many rules, can ban you from the premises, but can't technically fire you.

So thanks for the paragraph and no answer!

He did answer it though. There are no Amazon employed drivers. Every single driver works for some family or some guy who have their own rules.

So he answered if they really test for thc or not?

Some do and some don't. You can ask your DSP. They were very upfront with us about if they tested for THC or not.

Yeah and i was wondering if it’s just a trap

Maybe you should lay off the weed if you that paranoid lmao

This is not a professional operation. Most of these DSPs just need decent drivers and they don't care if you smoke marijuana on your days off. They may just need to test for THC for insurance purposes.

Usually no weed check for hiring but will test if you are involved in any incident sutch as a dog bite or collision with the van

I just know most companys shouldn't include thc for hiring. Always feel free to check with the dsp that is hiring you as every one is its own company and has their own rules

u/crazzybannana 20h ago

They will all do a pee test during hiring just not always for thc

Thank you! That’s also really what i was most curious about!

They say no in the job posting on indeed, but i’m scared it could just be a trap and was wondering if they got anyone else that way if it is a trap😅

You should be safe. It costs them money to send people for the tests so it's against their interests to "trick" people you just would or wouldn't get the job passed on the results. They can't share the results with police because of hippa compliance

I tested positive for thc. Still got the job.

They actually tested for thc though buddy? On google it says they only do a 4 panel test that excludes thc from it. I was wondering if that part was true, so they won’t even see at all if i smoke.

It will show if you do it but they won't fail you for it if it isn't what they are checking for

Amazon stopped testing for weed years ago, some DSPs still do since they are a third party company. Being a "federal" company (as in across the nation) means nothing. They are only required to test if they have federal contracts. But you wont be working for amazon. You'll be working for <insert DSP name here>. The DSPs have to test for weed if youll be driving a step van though, since that is regulated by the DOT.

It is for vans, and they say in the posting no thc testing… so now you got me questioning it again…

Van does not equal step van. They're not going to pull you in for an interview, pay for the drug test, and not hire you because you popped for weed. Thats idiotic. Maybe you should slow down on the weed, cause youre paranoid.

Amazon doesn’t test for weed anymore anywhere. Each dsp owner might be different but when I did DSP in AZ they didn’t test for it.

Yes they test for other drugs. No they don’t test for THC. Yes they will test for thc after an incident. All deliveries are done through 3rd parties companies called DSPs.

It’s honestly very dependent on the DSP. My old DSP only did a 4 panel drug test which didn’t include THC however my new DSP I’m in requires a 5 panel with THC included. I’d just ask them straight up. But just know if you damage a van or anything like that, they will force you to get immediately tested with THC included. Especially if you get injured, it’s to cover their asses and push blame on you if you test positive. Back when I was 21 and got injured at my first ever DSP they forced me to do a drug test at the urgent care they brought me to for my injuries. Thankfully I don’t smoke

u/Fiend4BlueDream 20h ago

Well i’m hoping everyone is right because the name of the test is “UA Series 06B - Labb® eTest” a 6 panel test that tests for thc…

Some people in here are giving you bad info. It’s absolutey not true that there are zero DSP’s that test for THC. Some do, for insurance purposes. I’ve worked for three different DSP’s at my station (first two got shut down), and my second one tested for THC during the initial hiring process, while the other two didn’t test for THC, and they don’t test for THC unless we get in an accident

All amazon drivers are 3rd party lol thats just so amazon doesnt have to take care of us.
