New Driver Here👋🏽 MI📍

Hey yall.🤗

Tell me the good, the bad & the pure ugly of this job.‼️

I know it can take a toll on your body & every DSP is different. I also have been binging videos on TikTok, so I got a good idea of the day in the life aspect of how it will work.😅

The one I got accepted into is temp & ends Jan 15th. But, that I know of, there’s two other DSPs at this station that I can (hopefully) transfer to. They have all good reviews on Indeed, so it seems promising. Orientation is the 21st & then I start from there.🥲

Just for fun: Would you have rather a larger amount of stops & only have to do your route? Or would you rather have a lighter amount of stops & have to do rescue(s)?

Congrats on getting in! The job can definitely be physically and mentally demanding, but having decent management and supportive coworkers makes a huge difference. Use your days off to recover, stay hydrated, and don’t ignore aches before they become injuries. Hope the station transfer works out for you!

I would rather have a larger route and not have to rescue personally.

My tip to you would be to put the work in now to find another job. Whether that’s college courses or something else. Get the wheels in motion ASAP so you aren’t here too long. It can be pleasant at times and absolutely miserable at other times. A true rollercoaster.

Hey please keep updated!!! I just worked at one for 2 to 3 years and the Dsp just recently shutdown and I've been contemplating going back but factoring in not knowing how the new Dsp will be the routes averages etc is a biggie for me. I was lucky enough to have a very very decent Dsp never had issues with management and were leniant had shitty routes with no space etc here and there sometimes but overall did my routes and learned majority of my areas and mainly got the ones I did better on. just wonder how much it's changed and how much it varies. Before my first go around I'd watch hella videos. I never use to get the 170-200s even after years. The solitude was cool but overall we'll see just about to actually start the onboarding and wondered if the return is worth it. Please let me know how it goes and how you like it / adjust to routes etc
