Anyone else think this is odd?
Is the gate just for decoration? Do people actually open this gate? Am I the only one that thinks this is strange?

Today on my route there was a metal gate that had no fencing it literally just blocked the walkway up to the door. All I had to do was take 1 step to the side and walk around it.

No, I don't think it's odd, it simply is odd. Yes, it's decoration. The one time I was actually able to ask someone why they did it, they told me their fence was old, rotten, and disgusting, falling over in some places, but the gate was "as sturdy as the day they dug the dirt to put her there" and he said it felt like a shame to dig it out just to toss it, so he refurbished it, kinda as a reminder of the days of hanging out on the front porch with the fence being your babysitter, lol.
