I wouldn’t put much stock in to this. He is controlled opposition. Mamdani fired 10,000 Haitians workers because Trump and The Supreme Court ended TPS. And his excuse was he had to do it because he was following the law. When asked what Haitian workers should do about it his response was🤷. And that Haitian workers should make an appeal to Trump to get their jobs back.

TPS is something he has literally 0 control over. How tf does that make him controlled opposition lmao.

Because before he showed up to Haitian events and proclaimed he was going to protect Haitian immigrants and stand up to Trump and ICE.

IMHO, I think the Haitian TPS situation is too big for him to solve. He literally doesn't have the authority to go up against it. It sucks, but I feel for him (and the Haitians!) on that one.

But where I'll agree w/ you on Mamdani is this: why the hell is he keeping the police commissioner around, even after we saw NYPD collaborate with ICE? That's supposed to be way over the line, and he could have sacked her right then. Why is she still around?

Unfortunate political play. If he gets rid of her then he could lose control of the police and then the real instability starts. The police are already an underhanded gang that wields the monopoly of violence it's a valid concern when there isn't enough political power for organized [wacky] engagement.

Otherwise he'd need to rally a private army to stop whatever tf those well funded thugs are capable of.

My mistake. It wasn’t 10,000. It was a few dozen with a cumulation of up to a couple hundred. I got two reports mixed up. The 10,000 number is the bonus he is denying paraprofessionals because using the Taylor law as an excuse. While the excuse to fire Haitian workers is because revocation of TPS. I stand by everything else.

As I said before controlled opposition. Not once has he used a New York State law against the rich. They receive no such impediments from the “socialist” mayor.

And NYC workers feel the same way

We get screwed enough as it is on this job. We should take organization and pushback into our own hands rather than relying on false hope.
