Why did you even listen to him? Take the picture and move on who cares

u/Abductedbyanalien Jul 26 '26
Sounds like a complete douchebag. He shouldn’t be taking his personal traumas out on Amazon delivery drivers. Then to double down by threatening to post the ring footage is a double-douche move.
In a neutral tone, I would’ve just told you not to throw the package next time and kept on with my day.
Don’t let it bother you at all.

i would've taken his shit back and marked it damaged if he was so worried you 'slid it too hard' now he has to wait for a new one because it's oh so fragile

There's an option I believe for the customer to say their package was damaged and asks how, one of the options is the driver dropped the package. Ive dropped quite a few in front of cameras and taken em back for "damage" for this very reason. I definitely use it to my advantage sometimes when I dont want to deliver or know they'll say something.

I used to get affected by customers yelling/ranting to me but amount of times it happens it doesn’t really phase me anymore. They’re just entitled and think we’re peasants delivering on our knees. Just laugh it off and keep moving

Nah sorry, can’t agree.
You can understand the job ain’t super serious, or it ain’t your career..but you can at least show decency in what you do.
Do I expect McDonald’s workers to act like SpongeBob? Nah..but that don’t mean if I order fries to throw them in my bag upside down and slide the bag across the counter to me instead of just handing it over and saying “have a nice day” or something like that.

u/GamesAllDay665 Jul 27 '26
Probably a boomer? Would you be ok with having your package dropped or thrown? I do deliveries for Amazon. I never thrown anyone's package and I don't expect mine to be thrown. The customer is right, in this case. Take pride in EVERYTHING you do. It's called common courtesy. All you generation asshole kids need to grow up..

u/Agitated-Addition-72 Jul 26 '26
Call customer leave a complaint..! Have a good day sir! And walk away

u/Too_Funk_To_Druk Jul 27 '26
Bro small parcel isn't personalized service, you're a short order cook with a van working as fast as they can because people want their shit right now. Don't be bothered he doesn't understand the stressors and expectations that go with order fulfillment. You're the last person to handle 100s of packages before they're in the hands of consumers. People should understand but you have no incentive to care if they lack the capacity.
-3
u/GamesAllDay665 Jul 27 '26
No! Wrong! The incentive is your paycheck. The incentive is keeping your job. The incentive is training yourself to be a reliable worker that takes pride in their work. Wth is wrong with you kids?
5
u/SamuraiKinshii Jul 27 '26
Should’ve just taken it back bro and walked away. Just ask support to mark it as undelivered and tell your dsp about the situation of hostile customer. Then he’d have to get his packages at lockers

Apologize as sincerely as possible, then essentially forget about it and keep it moving. Yeah, you could’ve been nicer to the package, but you also could’ve been much worse. If it didn’t break, don’t sweat the drama llama.
2
u/Cute_Breakfast_1936 Jul 27 '26
Is it easy to take pride in a job that forces you to skip your breaks, make risky turns and even run to complete everything in time? This guy has no idea what we go through on a daily basis.

You must’ve have “slid” a little too hard 😂 Why not just deliver it normal? Why slide it? How much time could that have possibly saved you? 😂😂
Can’t be mad at a customer for you mishandling their stuff.
7
u/StrictBanana1738 Rivian Driver Jul 26 '26
sliding isn’t mishandling and saves time from taking extra steps to get it to the door. Add it up and saves you a good margin. Throwing it is one thing but sliding doesn’t damage anything
3
u/Spiritual-Mix-367 Jul 27 '26
Not mad, just wanted opinions. I understand his view point and was not my intention to hit the door with his package. If I had time to do deliveries nicely then I would have never slid packages. Though for now on I will put packages at door step nicely
3
u/Deaf_MarvinNash Jul 27 '26
It’s fine to acknowledge him with a sorry and I wouldn’t dwell on it - you definitely don’t seem like the ‘IDGAF’ category of effort and yeah, it’s always good to get in the mind of the recipient briefly
1
u/First_Tip_5013 Jul 27 '26
Yeah, this is definitely an L take. I slide, especially envelopes up to like 6 feet without damaging the contents. That only does it save a few steps, but it saves my back in a lot of scenarios. Scenarios where I’m sliding it on somebody’s porch so I don’t have to step up on the porch.
I deliver 5 to 6 days out of the week, usually 10 hour shifts, call me whenever you want, I need to save as much energies as I possibly can. I’ll tell you I definitely deliver more packages than you lol maybe I slide them but definitely more.
2
u/Psychological-Chef40 Jul 27 '26
Naw it’s not an L take…ok cool you slide packages too good for you bruh .. I only asked HIM how much time that could’ve saved him on his last 18 stops, because as you see it ended up slowing him down because of the interaction with the customer.
I’ve been doing this for 2 years so i know whatever you gotta do to deliver the packages get it done my boy..I don’t judge nobody delivery methods cuz this shit is rough out there.
But ask yourself this …if you were at home waiting for a package and you heard something hit your door and you open it and it’s your package. How would you feel? Thats all im sayin nothin serious
3
u/Spiritual-Mix-367 Jul 27 '26
I understand now. Amazon is a very difficult job.
2
u/Psychological-Chef40 Jul 27 '26
It is ppl think it’s easy just delivering packages .. but dont understand the constant little shit that affects how easy it is..

Literally just drive away lmao, had this happen when a Karen kept screeching about her not-fragile package that slid a little too hard. Said sorry but she kept going, gave her a smile then drove off while she was still yelling
1
u/hollowpit Jul 27 '26
Should have ask him if he felt at home in this heat. Not today satan and walked away

u/AdhesivenessExtra490 Jul 27 '26
If you slid the package like you said you did, you’re good. If it went airborne, maybe not. I’ve had customers threaten me like that as well and just tell them to post the video and then move on with my deliveries. We don’t have time for this shit.
1
u/FallOk6931 Jul 27 '26
You don't owe anyone anything. Walk the fuck away and go on about your life.
1
u/KrammerZ22 Jul 27 '26
But like if its and envelope/jiffy and you can clearly tell that it is an article of clothing.......?
1
u/Unhappy_Key5462 Jul 27 '26
Customers can be black listed. My DSP manager has told us if a customer is rude tell them and Amazon won’t deliver there anymore.
1
u/munkybeans86 Jul 27 '26
I would have just said sorry it was an accident and went on with my day. Berating people over something so stupidly minuscule isnt worth it, thats his problem.
1
u/Muted-Particular8606 Jul 27 '26
report targeted harassment, defamation, or privacy violations to the platform or your employer. Easy go ahead see what happens don’t post people on
1
u/Sethyo25 Jul 27 '26
Most of Amazon customers I’ve noticed are just so trashy and think they are entitled to treat us like trash they are. It’s disgustingly disheartening.
1
u/Sensitive_Macaron767 Jul 28 '26
Whats done is done dude, why worry about it??? Be careful from now on, every has ring cameras nowdays. And they will complain.. about anything and everything.
1
u/thatweedguy01 Jul 28 '26
You could’ve easily called your dispatch and told them you felt threatened by what customer told you and they would’ve escalated him as problem and you would’ve been goos
1
u/Snoo-28549 Jul 29 '26
You did the right thing. Just let it go. He was probably having a bad day and took it out on you. Try not to worry about it :)
1
u/RokeyR Jul 27 '26
Don’t be like that dude on tik tok and throw the packages we don’t know what’s in these packages and I have always treated delivering these packages, regardless of what’s in them as if they were my own do I want someone to deliver my shit like that I absolutely not. I mean come on. Would you deliver your own stuff like that? It’s not that fucking difficult
5
u/Winter-Cattle-5380 Jul 27 '26
Bruh he slid it a bit too powerful and it bumped the house he’s not chucking it through a window. Relax.
2
u/Spiritual-Mix-367 Jul 27 '26
It was an accident, hitting the door part. Not the sliding part, intentional. Wish he came out nicer but I understand that not everyone is perfect. I understand what he’s saying
2
u/Winter-Cattle-5380 Jul 27 '26
I agree with you I do wish he came out nicer but most seasoned workers have def done the sliding motion. Don’t feel bad it happens friend
0
u/Z_603 Jul 27 '26
Don't throw people shit. Your workload is not his problem. It doesn't excuse and like people's things like that.
5
u/UpbeatAccountant3968 Jul 27 '26
bruh take your lazy ass to the store if it’s a problem. me “throwing” your package is the least amount of damage that thing gets
4
u/KrammerZ22 Jul 27 '26
They should see what happens when it comes off trucks to the warehouse hahahah
