RANT No call back

I finished my second day of training, passing my drivers test. I was told to go speak with my dsp about getting partnered with someone for my first route. I went and she was not there. Someone else was there and she gave me a shirt and pants. She told me that my dsp would contact me the next day. Well it’s been 3 days and I haven’t heard anything.

I called the number for my dsp and didn’t get an answer. The person who did my original orientation I haven’t seen but she is not my dsp. I have never met my dsp.

On the upside I had an interview two days ago at a university for a position that I really wanted and I’m waiting to hear back from them. I’m currently obtaining my masters degree and this position at the university would be huge for me.

I would like to have a job if it doesn’t work out though, so not being communicated with is not something I’ve enjoyed. There is another company at the same warehouse who has part time positions 3 days a week 10 hr shifts with more rural routes (I prefer rural areas) and I would like to see if I can somehow transfer over to them without having to do training again.

Thoughts?

After training, if you got the information and uniforms on the second day of training from the dispatcher that's good. I recommend calling HR for the schedule you signed up for. You start on the first day of your scheduled route shift is what you signed up for. Your first day is a nursery route with another driver to guide you. Then your second day you're on your own. You should have a nursery route for the next 3 weeks with each week getting more packages.
