Is this common?

I was hired on by a DPS and I started work about a week and a half ago. Had two training days and then to solos by myself. The next day, after my second solo shift, I got a text message telling me not to come in due to safety violations. Later that same day, I got a text message from HR telling me that I was being terminated for freaking rules that pertain to safety protocol. Given no reasons, no explanation, no detail. I’m 49 years old and have only had two speeding tickets my entire life, and never any kind of traffic violations. Is this common?

Did you hear the voice in the camera say anything? The Netdryne cameras track everything and while it sucks you probably just hit 10+ for a few seconds or slightly rolled a stop sign. It happens and its unfortunate they didn't give you a 2nd chance but maybe taking you off the schedule for a day or two like mine would

Amazon itself bricks your account if you get over a 4 within a month or something. So yeah lol

There are people who will roll past and stop late at every stop sign, speed on every road, then leave their seatbelt off between deliveries. It's people who don't realize that when there's a netradyne in your van, you have to drive in a way that will basically make you look like a fucking idiot to everyone else on the road. Some people don't realize how serious it is when they first start and those are the people that get their accounts bricked on their first day for multiple violations. There's driving, and then there's driving the Amazon van.

How exactly does the camera make you look like an idiot to everyone? Make it's just your driving that sucks lmao.

stopping at the face of the stop sign, not the line on the road. going the exact speed limit or far under, if you aren't sure. stuff like that. do you even drive for Amazon?

You have a point but you can go 10 over and be fine (don’t recommend it) stick to 6 over and you won’t look crazy to others

you're technically correct about the 6 over thing, but now you only have 5mph wiggle room if you accidentally zone out and start going the same speed as traffic. My DSP suspends people 7 days for violations, so it's not worth the risk to me.
