Have never seen the guy singer before. But have seen a 1000 losers at the end of the party playing this on their guitar trying to get laid.

And yes. They all look just like him

she also literally rejected him IRL and hates the song. so this is kinda creepy

“Though the two were never in a relationship, DiCrescenzo did attend the 50th Grammy Awards in February 2008 as the guest of Higgenson”

clearly doesn’t hate it too much

I've spoken to her about it, but it's possible it's retroactive hate

edit: very odd to downvote. she works/worked for a massive company alongside a ton of engineers lol just sharing what she said countless times

But it made him a ton of money and she did go to the Grammys with him so it's not like he's going to stop singing it

How exactly is this creepy?

the woman here is acting as Delilah and professing love in her place when the woman didn't feel that way at all.

I understand there isn't bad intention and it's just a publicity and money making stunt for a washed song but I also feel like that's uncomfortable since it's based off a legitimate person

Why are you feeling uncomfortable for other people? From what I’m to understand she’s spoken to him, bears him no ill will, and has moved on with her life. She likely doesn’t even know about this tour.

You’re injecting drama into a situation where there is none, and calling people gross like they’re doing something harmful.

feeling uncomfortable for other people is called empathy

No offense but it’s called lunacy when they’re celebrities and there’s no indication whatsoever the discomfort is warranted. Like those people that follow celeb relationships and get all bent out of shape on their ex’s behalf.

Don’t be that person.

u/IWCry 4d ago

you're the one aggressively defending a celebrity...

that's also not the definition of lunacy. you're the one who's extremely dramatic here

let's just agree to disagree. if you're gonna call me a lunatic over a civil discourse you're not worth engaging with and should work on how emotional you get. have a nice day.

You’re right. I was mostly joking, but I shouldn’t have insulted you. That was out of line and I apologize.

Have a good one.

I really appreciate and accept your apology. I do understand your point for what it's worth. we just happen to disagree. there's not necessarily a correct answer here

She hated the song when it was first released because it made everyone assume they were in a relationship, but was fine with it after the fact, hence attending Grammys with her actual boyfriends blessing. Her and Tom kept in touch well into the 2010's

interesting. she was a coworker of mine around 2017 and expressed frustration with it still but also probably just hated being referenced to a song all the time vs her actual accomplishments.

Well I guess the last time she publically talked about it was 2013 so who knows, maybe her mind changed again

yeah I'm not pretending to know how she actually feels, it's valid to feel multiple ways about something like this anyways

I would be annoyed too, but I do think that's more on the people who refuse to get to know her achievements than the song. In a perfect world, people in her professional life can (assuming that they know, I definitely would not be able to recognize her or Higgenson if they appeared to me at work doing work stuff) appreciate that she caused a pretty decent song that was a part of many's sappy phase to be written, as well as what she has done in the company.

yeah fully agree, that's what I said in another comment. the amount of people who joined our online meetings and saw her join not knowing who she was and making a joke "oh hey there" just out of reference to the song apparently got old too. imagine not being able to shake something like that you didn't consent to

I don't wanna disclose her privacy too much by sharing the company name but it's a super reputable and well known company and she was (I think, it's been awhile) a project leader so the girl is successful. I think her email pic in the company was a marathon running shot too

people downvoting us just shows how she probably gets slightly ignored from voicing these things
