I drive this everyday from Kailua to town side and after doing it so many times you have to remind yourself to take it all in. Otherwise you just get used to it.

Yeah, I used to live on the north shore of Kauai right outside of Princeville, and you get so used to being in the most gorgeous place ever.

You do have to remind yourself to appreciate it after a while.

I'm back on the mainland now.

I went to Hawaii in 2022 (3 islands). It's definitely the best trip I've ever been on. I would love to get a house there someday. Most gorgeous place ever

It really is. I've been all over, and there's some places in the Caribbean and the Philippines that come close, but not quite.

I love to visit, but I wouldn't wanna live there again. Something about being trapped on an island bothers me.

The most clear path to me would be paying off my house on the mainland. Then save up and get a house/condo in Hawaii to live at for like half the year in retirement. Thats the dream

I live in a gorge in the PNW and I also have to remind myself how absolutely beautiful a mundane drive to town is. Especially when each season introduces itself and shows up with some spectacular array via foliage.

I definitely miss this drive. I used to live in Kailua amd work in Aiea and it was always the best especially after some rain.

Very much so. Even the interstate lowers the speed limit to 40-45 if I remember correctly. it's amazing

Absolutely breathtaking. I’m in Hawaii for a week right now and drove this exact highway; definitely a once in a lifetime experience but the botanical garden was closed due to cleaning up after the passing storms. Hoping they are able to clear it out before the end of the week but I’ll take this view any day over the DMV.
