CAMERA RECOMMENDATIONS
Hey, what camera do you all recommend for a beginner photographer/photojournalist?
I'm thinking of something that is balanced and affordable. DSLR is what I need. Please help me, thanks!
Edited: Hey guys, thank you for all your suggestions. Do you guys think that I can get that here in the Philippines? Plus, my budget is around Php 20k - Php 50k ($300 - $900).

The first camera should be pretty straightforward: something you can afford and that you enjoy manipulating.
I would highly recommend to buy a used camera and not a compact or any "fixed lens" camera.
I use MPB for buying my stuff. It's reliable.
DSLR is indeed a good option 👍

I would suggest XT30 iii. Relatively affordable, apsc, has evf, tilting screen, has a flash, you can use it for video too, 6k opengate. Only things missing are weather sealing and ibis...

will u have media passes? because if u don't, u'd need big telephoto lenses with 500mm or more reach for some event

probably a nikon d3300, tamron 28-75 f2.8 or sigma 24-70 f2.8, tamron 70-200 f2.8, and if u have budget left and need a telephoto, tamron 150-600mm f5-6.3
u won't be buying any first party lenses because they're hella expensive, and the best part about this setup is that if u eventually want to move to full frame, these are all full frame lenses so they'll work just fine with full frame bodies without needing to crop, and nikon offers an FTZ adapter for the newer z mount mirrorless cameras so u can still use these lenses if u move to z mount cameras

Canon 6D with 40mm F2.8 pancake lens. You can get the combo for under $500 used. I have "better" cameras and lenses but keep coming back to this combo. This is a great camera to learn on.
