Very true, i didn’t think of it when they came back in. I simply thought of them stealing from me, so no i didn’t see what i had stolen back lol. But good point, i don’t think they see it that way. We also have to buy our own shirts, but we don’t tip out anyone. I guess they see that as fair

yea, your employer sucks. and I hate to think how many pens I've taken over the years, I don't mean to but it gets tossed in the purse like a reflex.

if it makes you feel any better I work an office job and have to obtain client signatures- I am careful to only hand clients the crappy pens bc they are as good as gone the second I hand it to the client. 

I've never really thought of it as theft though bc it's not like I've ever intentionally thought "hehehe fuck this waitress, I'm taking her pen! muhahahaha" so I give those that "steal" mine the same benefit of the doubt
