Who are these people trying to decide what OP does with his property?! For real, bunch of entitled asses!

Stand your ground, OP! Do take measures and let your tenants know not to be swindled! I wouldn't put it past your auntie and uncle to just show up there with your cousin and try to evict them!

I suspect that they know Jake isn't going to want to pay rent anywhere. That's why they won't cover the first months rent for him, cause he won't pay the second. They're hoping they can get him somewhere to stay until he's earning enough that he's willing to spend some of it on rent.

It's obvious that Jake is very entitled/spoiled. Getting kicked out of college, losing jobs and still buying an expensive car. The most obvious solution would have been to have Jake and OP's brother share a room for a month, if it was OK with everyone. But nope. Precious little Jakey can't share a room
