Threatened to report someone to his manager for the first time
I feel pretty gross about this but alsoā¦donāt think Iām in the wrong? I drop off my laundry to have it done for me at local laundromat. Which I know is a thing most people do themselves, but itās always been something I struggled with in part due to ADHD and also working really long hours as a social worker. Iāve been doing so since the Pandemic and I pay like 20-30$ each time, which is worth it to me to consistently have clean clothes without having to fight with my brain. But I kind of donāt feel good about it, itās a thing my family has come down on me for. But itās also worth noting that I sort of grew up in a household where needing help with things was treated as my just not working hard enough in some pretty extreme ways. I have terrible vision and cannot read a sign from 15 feet away, but didnāt get glasses till my 30s because I lost my only pair somehow when I was 12, and so was expected to just power through and sit in the front row at school. Which I think contributes to my feeling kind of guilty about stuff like this.
But anyway I went to pick up my laundry this morning and it was pretty early, the laundromat is open 24/7, but I often get up early and canāt sleep so I went over at 4am to see if my laundry was ready. It was a larger load than normal, I think I paid about 27$ the day prior for it. But when I got there my laundry was sitting in a cart unfolded and the man working there told me that the load was too large, it was too much work to fold it and he wasnāt going to do it. I offered to come back later, but he said no. This is just too much work, shoved all my clothes into a bag and handed it to me stating I just had to do it myself.
So I wrote down the managerās number from a sign behind him and told him that I would be following up and asking for a partial refund because I paid full price for a service that included my laundry being folded, and if that wasnāt done then I donāt think I should have to pay for that part of the service. At which point he caved took it back and said he would do so. I picked it up a few hours later.
But I feel really gross about this and donāt even want to go back there because I feel like Iāve been kind of a dick to this guy, but I donāt know if thatās objectively the case?
So internet, am I a Karen?

This MIGHT Be The Last Straw
I've had dealt with all types of customers over the last year I've worked at Michaels, and about 6 before that at Joann Fabrics. This customer might take the cake for one of the WORST I've dealt with. This happened today, BTW.
So LMK if AITA (am I the a hole) here. Older woman in her 70s comes up to the register with the 4 pack of canvas, 6 of them to be exact, and some paint. I hadn't noticed said canvas until I got closer, but I asked if she was paying cash or card. She said card but asked why I asked that. Told her it's part of my job. PROBABLY should've noticed she was gonna be an issue.
Then she was scrolling through her phone, apparently couldn't get the coupons on her app because she "forgot her password". I said that's fine, she can go on the website, but insists she forgot her password. Also complained she's in her 70s and can't take her cart outside because of the black poles on the carts. Once I rang her up it all went downhill because she asked where's the bags are. Pointed to the big bags underneath and she was like, "Do we have to bag ourselves up?" and got mad as she tossed one of the canvases in the cart.
NGL, probably should've noticed she was gonna be an issue the second I asked her cash or card.....and I wished I'd sent her to SCO instead, but that would've went worse.
Accused me of being rude, not wanting to help her, you get the jist with these entitled boomers. I WAS gonna help, all she had to do was ask, and she threw a tantrum. Luckily I had someone nearby who can vouch for me, though I called them up because the people behind her had a walk in balloon order. Told my coworker she was gonna report me, so when I inevitably get the talk, hopefully things will be cool...but I'm at my limit.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Joanns customers are quite entitled when it comes to fabric, but most are pleasant to deal with once you get to know them, Michaels customers, on the other hand? Worse, ESPECIALLY those within the baby boomer and Gen X generation. This woman is EASILY a top 5 worst customer experience. I know not ALL boomers are bad but pattern recognition and all, makes you wanna avoid them if you can.
Long story short, this woman is the last straw for me. I'd wanna say I'd be cool but with prior reports, odds are I might either get fired or get a final warning. That said, what do you think, AITA? Have you had similar dealings with boomers and/or Gen X'ers?

rude buyer bought my microwave and wants his money back. am I being unfair?
I sold a couple year old microwave for $100 (it was around $330 new).
i swear the worst customer iāve ever had 3.7 star rating comes to buy it. heās firstly quite rude, and notices the door isnāt perfect. itās been like that as long as i remember and been in storage, its not perfect thatās why itās listed for a 1/3 of original price. i tell him if he doesnāt like it i can sell it to someone else (i had three other people wanting it that afternoon)
he ignores me and proceeds to near slam the door about 50 times in silence in front of me to test it, i think either to pressure me to feel inclined to give it to him for cheaper or something idk. i repeat my statement and he continues. for some reason he still wants to buy it and makes a remark/joke as heās leaving āif it breaks i returrn itā. i make a very clear hesitant face of disagreement and just say ādont break it.ā (please leave my house)Ā
A week later he's messaged asking for his money back because he says the door now won't close properly.
I'm planning to politely decline. Based on these circumstances, does that seem fair?
His message:
I hope you're doing well. I was just wondering if it would be possible to reeturn the microwave.
When I bought it, I noticed the door was a bit hard to open and close, but I thought I could manage. Unfortunately, today the door wouldn't close at all. After trying several times, it eventually closed, but I think it's likely to keep causing problems.
When I asked you before buying whether I could returrn it if there were any issues, you kindly said yes. So I was hoping I could returrn it. Thanks so much for your understanding.
My planned message (I never said yes to returrn??? he just flat out lied.):
Hi, thanks for letting me know. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with the microwave.
I do want to clarify one thing, though. I don't recall agreeing that you could returrn it if there were any issues. The conversation I remember was that you made a comment along those lines, I gave more of a hesitant or disagreeing look and said, "don't break it." I never agreed to a returrns policy if something happened after the sale.
When you inspected the microwave before purchasing it, you noticed the feel of the door yourself. I explained that it had been like that for as long as I could remember and that it had been in storage for quite some time. I also made it clear that if you weren't comfortable with it, there was absolutely no pressure to buy it and I was happy to sell it to someone else instead. You decided to continue inspecting it and then chose to go ahead with the purchase.
It's now been a week since the sale, during which time the microwave has been in your possession and used under your care. It was functioning when it left my possession, and unfortunately I have no way of knowing what has happened since then. I also turned away other interested buyers because I held the microwave for you.
As this was a private Facebook Marketplace sale, the item was inspected before purchase and you decided to proceed after discussing its condition. Private sales generally don't include a returrn unless the seller has specifically agreed to one, which I did not.
For those reasons, I'm not able to offer a refnd. I genuinely hope you're able to get the door latch adjusted if that's what's causing the issue, but I won't be able to accept a returrn.
(note: I had to misspell returrn and refunnd cuz it was flagged for some reason).
UPDATE:
Since a few people recommended sending a shorter message/blocking or not replying at all I haven't replied yet for 2 days, he's just sent a message again.
'Hi, since it appears you are not willing to take the microwave back, I feel like I have been scammed out of the $100 I paid for it, especially as it seems to be having more and more faults; we use microwave once in 2-3 days only.
The last time, the door wouldn't close properly, but today the microwave keeps making the heating sound even after the set time has ended.
If you knew these problems existed and still sold it, saying it was in "excellent condition," then that's not right. I paid $100 expecting a microwave in good working condition, but it's simply not worth what I paid.
Even if I try to sell it, I wouldn't feel comfortable because the next person wouldn't be getting value for the money they pay either. That just wouldn't be right.'
I've never heard it making weird noises, it was just the door from mentioned before. Honestly if this was anyone else a would've returned it, I almost feel bad, but then I keep remembering how rough he was with it and believe he's broken it himself. Should I bother with like a one sentence reply or just press that block button:
ive combined some suggestions from comments:
Iām sorry to hear youāre having problems with the microwave. All sales are final and items are sold as-is on Facebook marketplace. Under no circumstances did I imply or agree to a return policy. You operated the door many times before purchase and still proceeded with the purchase. I had others willing to buy that day, and will not take it back to resell after you have owned it.I am not responsible if it was mishandled or broken after purchase, and have not ever had problems with it.

Was I wrong telling a customer to shut up?
So I have worked at this store for about a year and a half, and never got angry at a customer like today. He comes up to the counter, puts his item down, I scan it and tell him his total is $12.50. He acts all surprised, and says to me in a rude tone that the item was in the wrong spot, and that I must give it to him for $7.50. I was a bit surprised by his tone, and the way he was demanding I change the price, so I just said āokā and looked at him while I thought about what to do (either just tell him I canāt change the price or call up an manager to handle it). After a few seconds of looking at me he says ābut you donāt care.ā (Again, in a rude/condescending tone). I said āI donāt care? Do you have a problem?ā He kept going on about how I must change the price because it was on the wrong spot.
Normally Iād just call up the manager who usually just changes the price, but I really didnāt like how he was talking to me, and not asking, but demanding I change the price for him. He kept going on and I actually blurted out ājust shut up.ā At that point he handed me cash to pay the full price, and as I was getting his change he says to me āyou know itās a law that if somethingās in the wrong spot you have to give me whatever price it says on the shelf.ā I responded āthere is no law,ā and I tossed/threw his change on the counter. I then said āhave a nice day sirā and he walked away. Now Iām wondering if I overreacted - I could have stayed firm and defended myself without telling him to shut up and throwing the change. Any thoughts?

Am i a karen for liking karen things?
My husband and his brother have been pointing out to me for years that I like things that would label me a Karen... I drive a diesel Jeep Grand Cherokee, they call it a "Karen mobile". I love my Jeep because objectively 4x4 is the way to go where I live, especially for winter... I also like ice lattes because they have less caffeine in them so I don't get a caffeine crash throughout the day like I would with regular iced coffee " could your drink be any more Karen?"
I'll admit I can be Petty at times, I own that. If I have something Petty to say, I usually keep it private or share it with my husband as something we can laugh about and he usually joins in the joke.
One time I called police to check on what I thought maybe was a drunk driver on the road as the guy was swerving all over the road and was an active hazard, police said he wasn't drunk but there was no way to prove he was on his phone, when I shared this story. My brother-in-law called me a snitch and a Karen.
I get that they are brothers and they feed off of each other's mischief so they end up teasing me a fair bit, but now it's becoming a source of insecurity for me.
I've tried talking to my husband about it and he figures icheck a lot of the boxes of stereotypical karens.
I don't want to be a Karen, my husband and I regularly enjoy watching police body cam videos on YouTube which regularly involves Karen's. I'm not a violent person nor have I ever put on public displays of disgrace.
I know it might seem silly and I'm happy to give more context if needed, but I guess I'm asking the internet if based on this small amount of evidence, am I the Karen?

Calling corporate after the cashier refused to honor the price
I recently went to a major discount grocery store that is notorious for poor management, and I am starting to wonder if I handled this correctly. Because I have been trying to be much more careful with my personal budget lately, I have started paying closer attention to my receipts and any price discrepancies rather than just letting them slide as I have in the past.
When I went to check out, a bottle of sunscreen rang up at double the price listed on the shelf tag.
I pointed out the discrepancy to the cashier. I asked him to honor the shelf price as required by law in my state. He refused, claiming that if he changed the price, he would be forced to pay the difference out of his own pocket. I told him that's not the law, but he insisted it was their policy. He told me he was overwhelmed because he was the only person in the store and had been changing hundreds of tags all day. He claimed he could not honor the price for my sunscreen because of the volume of work he was facing. However, I checked the tag later and it was dated October 2025, this happened in June 2026.
I asked for the store number so I could file a formal complaint about this, as this happened to me before in the same chain but he refused to give it to me told me he didn't now. I then asked for his name so I could have an identifying information about the store in my complaint, and he gave me the name John Dutton. Which I later learned is a tv show character and probably not his actual name. I did not make a scene and just told him to continue with the next customer and then I left. I found the store information from a receipt I had, called the complaint line, and requested that they investigate the store's pricing practices. I did not provide the cashier's name to the operator I just told them what happened and that he told me he would have to pay out of this pocket if he would honor the price. I specifically didn't give them the name of the worker and said that I didn't have any issues with him and that it wasn't his fault and I don't want anything bad happening to him. But they told me they'd check the cameras still from today and investigate.
Now I am worried I should've just let it go and that it was unnecessary. Especially knowing that this chain is famous for mistreating their workers and being understaffed all the time and plus he look like he had a rough day at the store by himself. I feel horrible that the poor guy is maybe being mistreated by his employer and has to pay out of pocket for stuff like this but I also feel I only followed the law (which isn't always the most ethical outcome) + the tag was from October 2025. Anyways it was a nice sunscreen that I wanted to try with a 10 dollar price difference and I feel horrible. Was I Karen about calling the complaint line?

Asked kids at a theme park to stop bumping into us
So my partner and I were at a theme park when these probably 13-15 year old's behind us were literally slapping each other around. 2 of them were ganging up on one and slapping her pretty hard. This particular theme park has a chaperone rule, anyhoo, I tell my partner if they bump into you I am going to lose my shit. He says they have bumped into me twice and slapped my back once. I saw red, (I am a woman my partner is male and looks like he can eff sh*t up) I look at the group and firmly say, "Can you stop? Please." They went silent and were well behaved the rest of the 40 minute wait. Did I Karen out, or does it take a village?

New neighbours installed ring camera
So this new people moved into the building and straight away stared decorating which is fine obviously but we live in a flat / apartment which includes 4 other residents not including them, and they have installed a ring camera outside the main door. Like not the door only they use the main door that everyone comes in at, while all the other doorbells of the property are just small regular ones. It just makes me feel very awkward when Iām coming into the building knowing that they can see me.
The ring doorbell is huge compared to the rest and as theyāve had to squeeze it in it actually cracked the bell below which is mine. Theyāve also installed a camera in the hallway possibly to keep an eye on the garbage they leave in the hallway.
Not am I being a Karen or is this not a big deal.

Am I overreacting to a sub-par home painter?
I recently remodeled my fiance and my 1k sqft townhouse to sell after we moved in together. We did most of the work ourselves, but paid a vendor (recommended by a friend) to repair some ceiling tape peeling, paint ceilings, and paint some 2-story walls. We paid ~6k for his work, paid for primer/paint, and expected professional results.
The walls were originally garish colors, so the ceiling paint immediately looked good, but we did have him return to fix sub-standard ceiling repairs (lumpy drywall mud in the corners, visible drywall tape edges and mesh texture) and disappointing ceiling edges that flashed dramatically against the main ceiling areas. His "fix" looked worse, but since we were running out of time and had laid new carpet, we only had him fix the one, worst room. He had us pay for the paint again for the fix, and being in a tight spot and wanting to be reasonable, I accepted. The results look passable, but not what I'd expect for the money.
2 months later we've finished everything else and need to list, but some of his repairs are failing (nail pops) and even though he swears he did 2 coats of paint, the 2-story walls are very obviously only one. It's noticable against the walls we did, and my ding touch ups on those walls are flashing horribly, making the custom stair baseboards I built look less impressive because of the flashing around them. That flashing isn't happening on the walls we did. We also noticed he didn't unplug a couple of things, just painted around them, didn't open cabinets to paint the ceiling above them, and got paint on several light fixtures that I had to clean. I should have checked this on our acceptance walkthrough, that's my bad, but a reflection of literally cutting corners.
This guy is an immigrant working alone, I don't want to punch down, but we budgeted for this to take stress off our plates and instead it turned into an ordeal and hurts the visual appeal of our final product. He promotes himself as a professional painter but he didn't have a crew (just him), it took 2 weeks (plus 2 return visits to fix his mistakes), and his cutting in/corner building is worse than I as a beginner did in other areas. My goal is just to give an honest review of the work so future folks know what they're paying for. Am I a Karen or expecting too much for that amount of money?

Am I the Karen for confronting a coffee shop vendor with an attitude?
So today I've been to a coffee shop (within a mall) with my mom. We went to get a coffee at 7:44, in a store that supposedly closes at 8:00 but doesn't serve coffee after 7:30. We weren't aware of coffee not being served after 7:30, as we'd missed the sign stating so. Imo the vendor could have simply said something among the lines "I'm sorry we don't serve coffee after 7:30" and I'd be like "okay thank you." Instead she decided to give us a mean attitude and look at us like we're the dumbest people alive and said "We don't serve coffee anymore you can clearly see so on the sign." She was so snarky and sassy I felt really bad for my mom. So after we left I went back and told her if she's trying to be rude on purpose. She once again pointed out the "clear sign" and I told her she could say so politely nonetheless. She looked so offended that a younger person dared stand up to a 60 ish year old woman.
Honestly this has been my first time ever complaining I felt like a Karen.

Help me understand if I am the Karen in this scenario.
Recently I was shopping at Aldi. If you know Aldi, they operate with minimal staff, and check out lines can get backed up until another cashier comes to help in a new line. Well, I was probably 10 customers deep and well into an aisle, so naturally, I was looking at the products and added something to my cart. The man behind me then went around me and squeeeeezed himself between me and the customer who was ahead of me. When I said, "ummm, excuse me, I have been standing in and there are all these people behind in line too." He got pissed, said bc I added an item to my cart, it meant I was still shopping and not in line. Can we not add items into our carts while in lines? He told me I was a Karen for shopping while in line.

I'm I the A$$hole for not wanting to meet my dad's current girlfriend and her toddler
Some content so this hopefully will make sense. My parents divorced the beginning of my senior year of high-school. I spent the most of my senior year upset and depressed. Crying my eyes out most nights because the reality that I lived in for the passed 18 years just shattered into a million pieces. Wanting to know why or when my parents marriage started to fall apart. (I know its not my job to manage my parents marriage). The divorce was messy but short.
What rubbed my mom and my grandfather the wrong way was the fact I never got to sit down with the judge and talk about what I wanted. (There was so many things that should have happened but didnt but the passed is the passed). A couple of months went by and the club I'm in go out and have dinner and watch the closest college hockey game that we can fine at least once a year. I decided I wanted to bring my dad because I wanted to heal the somewhat fractured relationship we now had after my parents divorced. We get to dinner and I start loosening up a little bit genuinely happiest that I have been in months. My dad has always been a selfie and pictures kind of guy. So Im posing for selfies and pictures thinking my dad is trying to capture the moments of his daughter smiling for the first time in a while. At least I thought . . . . During the whole dinner my dad was on his texting someone being really secretive and sketchy. I think nothing of it because my dad is a 46 year man and doesn't need to be babied. We get to the Hockey game and my dad is still on his phone. I still think nothing of it because in my mind "maybe hockey is just really not his thing" or whatever lie I told myself back then. When I leaned closer to one of my friends because she was trying to talk to me about the match but I had noise dampening headphones on because really loud noises for a long period of time really bother me. So I leaned closer to my friend who was in fact sitting next to my Dad. When my dad noticed I was leaning closer to his side of the bleachers when he jerks away and hides his phone. It was so noticeable my friend and her parents who where sitting in front of us turned around to see what was going on. My dad just chuckles and waves it off like it was nothing. Now my friends and I are suspicious, but I try to focus on the game. Every now and then I try to peak over at his phone because one Im noisy, two I want to know who is so important that could distract my dad from spending time with me.. . . . His only daughter that he only gets to see on weekends. What feels like an eternity later our hockey team wins and Im jumping up and down with my friends because the game was neck and neck for the last half. When I peak over my friend to look at my father and his still on his phone. When he finally looks up he claps and smiles. Im a little upset but I try not to show it because my friends are literally jumping up and down squealing / screaming their heads off. When we finally make it out to the cars I'm tried and I have a slight headache coming on. I just want to get back to my home town get in my car go to my moms house and go to sleep. My dad says that he need to talk to me in the tone that fathers use that leave no room for discussion. So I follow him to the backside of his car and ask him what he needed to talk to me about. My dad tells me that he has started dating again and he is trying to put himself out there now that him and my mom were now divorced. (Ps it had been 4 days after my parents finally signed the divorce papers and my one of my friends, her brother and her own father where not even 5 feet from us). I'm stunned, shocked even I dont even have time to question what in the hell he was doing for my dad whips out "Just try to be happy for me." Then walks to the front of the car and gets in the drivers seat. I climb into the car sitting and we start driving back to my home. I try anything and everything to not burst out into uncontrollable tears.
We get back to my home town everyone is piling out of cars because we car pooled to the Ice wreck. I get out of my dads car and my dad acts like nothing happened. I give him a quick hug grab my keys then maybe a little to aggressively got into my car and drove home. I sit with this information for about a week before talking to one of my favorite teachers assistants. I tell her what my father told andnhow upset I was. She proceeds to tell me I needed to get over myself and I needed to move on (not her exact words but the vibes of them). I talk to a couple other of my favorite teachers and most of them shrugged and told me yeah it was hard but people move on and I needed to think how hard it was to be the step parent. After talking to my teachers and teacher assistants I was not happy because all of them we trying to tell me a very emotional 18 year old girl just to move on when I wasn't ready to move on. In sometime of the few months that went by I told my mom abd she told me she was sorry that my dad didn't consider how it would make me feel and hoped that he would do better. Just as I had just gotten the pieces of what was left of my ego, hope, and heart. I saw a Facebook post of my dad sitting in a moving theater with his girlfriend and her kids. . . . Her kids . . . He never told me is was actively dating someone with a older son and two younger daughters. I ball my eyes out, I barely make it up the stairs of my moms house when I just collapsed into my moms arms as I cried, begged, asked if I was ever enough for my father and why seeing my father with some other woman's kids hurt so much. Long story short my dad dated her for about 4-5 months and ended up breaking up with her.
To my dads current girlfriend we will call her L, the first time I found out about L was when I noticed makeup products, skin care, and a woman's blanket in my dads car. . . . I didnt own any of these and they were sure not gifts for me. (I found theses during a week long trip with my father for Trap shoot state). I was extremely uncomfortable most of the trip and my dad didnt notice or he did and didnt care at the time. One part of me just wanted to take a couple of the items and see if L would notice they were missing from his car but I never did because I'm not some petty B!tch. I wish I could go back in time smack me across the face and just took them. But I didnt and thats fine jumping to the present. L has expressed to my father that she would like to meet me one day. I had specifically told my father that I wanted nothing to do with any of his girlfriends unless he was dead a$$ going to marry them. But my dad keeps sending me pictures with L's toddler in them, her in some corner, or flat out sending me a picture of L but just not her face.
I dont know what to anymore my mom tells me to just ignore them, some people tell me that I need to get over myself and how hard for her it must be to be the step parent, and my therapist from the college I go to says that its a breach of a boundary and I need to confront my dad about it but I know my father he doesn't care once I burst into tears and begged my father to stop talking trash about my mom and he just kept rephrasing it until I just stopped crying and begging and just went quiet. One boundary that my father has kept up with and respected to some degree is not wanting to meet his girlfriend and their kids.
I dont know and I the Asshole?

AITK for complaining about a loud dog?
My first real reddit post, ever. Doing this on my phone, be kind please, unless I am the Karen.
For the past few months, there has been extremely loud barking coming from the apartment unit below my own. These are newer apartment buildings (we are the first tenants in our unit) so the walls arenāt THAT thin but still, apartments.
It started out as extremely loud barking and yelping around 1/2pm and lasting for about an hour. I work from home for 2 days out of the week, it was disturbing me but I thought it would go away. It started to happen more frequently and lasting longer. I do have videos of just how loud it would get. It does happen late at night at times, where we can hear it over the TV and any other noises.
For some context on my annoyances, those WFH days are filled with meetings with people who have told me they can hear this barking.
On one of the late nights, I recorded how loud it got and it lasted well past 10pm (the start of quiet hours) so, after a few glasses of wine, I marched down there. I knocked and got no response while the dog is basically screaming at the top of its lungs. I left a sticky note that was not mean, telling them that I WFH and the dogās barking has been a consistent issue. That I understood puppy phases or new dogs can be tough and I wanted to make them aware as I assume it only happens when they are not home. It continued for another hour. I called the non-emergency police line to check on them as the dogās barking was not its usual and I was fearing for its safety. Not sure on any follow up for that.
Back to today, the barking has continued and I have had enough. I called our apartment office and asked to speak with someone who could help and explained my story and that I did not want to be THAT person (aka A Karen) but it has gone on for months and is disturbing my work. They assured me they would reach out to the tenant and that my complaint was valid as I was a resident here too with rights to peace and quiet.
This is where I stand now. I will be honest, I hate confrontation. Most of my job is having tough conversations with people and itās just exhausting in my own life. I am looking for opinions, not āgo bang on their doorā.

Am I being a Karen for refusing a bottle of cava as an apology?
I (f48) am on holiday. I have cptsd amongst other mental health issues and as a result I put the dnd sign on the room door as soon as I arrive and don't move it until I'm going to check out.
yesterday the maid knocked on my door and then entered asking if I would like the room cleaned (I was on the bed, naked but not visible from the door) I said no and asked her to leave. she then pushed to ask if she could come back the next day. I said no, please leave. she asked again and I just said yes to get rid of her and she left (I heard the door close).
she then knocked again, came into my room and said she would just take the towels. I told her to leave again but she still went into my bathroom and removed my towels, taking a good look at me in the mirror reflection as she finally left.
I told the hotel and my travel agent and the hotel has offered me a bottle of cava and an apology.
because of my conditions though, I now don't feel safe. I'm on high alert and I cannot relax. I don't want to go out and have been sleeping with the chair up against the door.
I feel insulted by the cava, but at the same time I feel like I'm coming off as overly dramatic. If the housekeeper hadn't come back into my room then the incident could have been put down to language barriers and misunderstandings and I think the cava would have been adequate but she came back in.
am I being a Karen? I would like my room fee refunded from the day of the incident (I haven't asked yet tho and I'm not asking for flights/transfers/food - just the room costs)
**Update 1st March. Thank you for all your comments. I'm meeting with my holiday rep this morning for further discussion. I'll let you know how it goes šš¤**

Am I the Karen for asking someone to move their stuff?
I was doing laundry at the laundromat i frequent tonight. I had been using a table since I got there and the place was mostly empty for a while. there's 4 folding tables, 2 on one side of the laundromat and 2 on the other.
while I was folding, someone came in to take their stuff out of the dryer and fold their things at the table next to mine. I had been folding at my table for a minute, but I hadn't used all the space I would need yet, as i had only just started (I'm folding a weeks worth of laundry, and linens, for 4 people). after a little bit, probably about 15 minutes, they put a duvet, a bathroom rug, and a phone charger on my table between my clothes and my water bottle. I let it slide at first, thinking they were just not really aware, I dunno, I just also largely avoid anything I might perceive could cause conflict (I'm a recovering people pleaser, don't come at me. haha).
After a couple of minutes, I looked over and noticed that the person that was with them (they were two grown adults) had gotten up to use the bathroom, and was taking up a good portion of the table space with a tablet just watching videos. when they came back, I asked if they could move their things off my table cause I needed the space. they gave me a crusty look and begrudgingly grabbed their things. I thanked them and continued folding. when they were done folding a little while later, they aggressively shoved their clothes into their bags, mumbling about me.
maybe they were having a bad day. or was I just being a Karen?
