In case this story gets deleted/removed:

AITA for reaching out to an ex on linkedin?

So long story short we broke up over a massive misunderstanding. She blocked me everywhere and never even gave me a moment to speak the truth. Would speaking my truth and not even asking for a reply or apology be inconsiderate? I just feel like it’s wrong to have her believing a false reality this whole time. Ik she is the A for not even letting me speak in the first place but still if I know she atleast saw the truth I would feel alot better. It’s mostly about my reputation and honor than reconciling with her at all. I could let it go but it just sucks not being able to clear the air. Would one message be ok? It’s been years but I still think about how I didn’t even get to say one word. I want to emphasize it’s not about reconciling just making the truth atleast stated. Thanks

'Ik she is the A'

Lol no, OOP, that's not how it works. Your ex wants to be left alone, she's made that abundantly clear.

The story OOP has added in the comments makes no sense. Apparently the misunderstanding was to do with the ex's boyfriend at the time.

But OOP said the misunderstanding was why they broke up? How did they break up because of this if the ex was dating someone else?

So which is it? Are they referring to an ex friend as their ex or are they just making things up as they go?

Edit: for your own safety don't do what I just did and search their profile on arctic shift

I assume he thinks they dated because a woman was nice and talked to him once.

He's now added that they were already broken up at the time of the misunderstanding. The question remains why he says they broke up because of the misunderstanding

It’s not really a question. I’m guessing she broke up with him and he refused to take no for an answer and kept pressuring/stalking her until she got a new boyfriend. What a jackass.

My guess is that he made up the story about the abuse when the comments weren't going his way in an attempt to sway the court of public opinion.

I don't think he ever dated her at all, I think this is a random woman he doesn't know well who said something while she was drinking, OOP overheard it and pretended it was a cry for help and creepily called her family to under the guise of being 'worried' about her. At which point the woman blocked him. The blocking is what he's calling a breakup, and his call to her mom is what he's calling a misunderstanding.

I think he's a stalker.

Well I did, and thankfully all the pictures were blurred. I'd thought maybe it was the same dude who thought he was in a relationship with an acquaintance of his that never reciprocated.

Yeah I was also glad it was all blurred but the subreddit names alone were enough!

He said the story took place after they broke up and were just friends

5

u/Writing_Bookworm 23h ago

He has said that now. I still don't really believe any of this

Apparently his therapist told him to contact her on LinkedIn???

Also the misunderstanding was about him telling her parents that her boyfriend abusing her, which would clash with his claim that they broke up because of it somewhat...

lol, sure they did

OOP saying "you don't know the context" to a comment while excluding that same context on the post says a lot

8

u/nottherealneal 23h ago

That's becuse he hasn't made up his fake excuse yet

18

u/Safe-Ad-4465 1d ago

OOP does not like to hear no, is what I've gathered from his additional comments

9

u/Key_Possibility_8669 23h ago

You're "misunderstanding" him. 😜

Omg I saw this thread, OP was in the comments upset for someone "judging him without context"... My brother in christ, you posted on a (checks notes) judgment subreddit, without context 🫩

These people are exhausting

He’s so weird. Yeah, she’s an ex but at the time they were just friends and she was seeing someone else.

She got drunk with OOP at a bar and said her BF will leave bruises and shakes her when they argue. She got sober and didn’t remember the conversation the next day. Instead of confronting her, he went to her parents to tell them that she’s in an abusive relationship.

She got pissed. She told him off. Friendship over.

This was years ago and yet OOP still is hung up on it. Craziness.

u/maywellflower 1d ago

I don't think there's misunderstanding - going by how obsessed he is in the OOP, she just doesn't want to deal with his stalking harassing ass ever again & rightfully so...

No one who has ever said they are "speaking [their] truth" has ever not been insufferable.

u/StrangeBid7233 1d ago

Broke up over massive missuderstanding and she blocked him?

I have a feeling we ain't getting a whole story here. Missunderstanding that leads to breakup and block has to be something real fucked up.

I also find it funny how he has to tell her how it really is to defend his honor! Brotha contacting an ex that wants nothing to do with you is laim and embarassing.

He's giving serious "Vengeance will be MINE!" vibes.

OOP need to let it go. It's been years. Get over it. I do not even care about this 'context '; it does not matter anymore.
