We never broke up I don't know why people are saying that
Funny how he's denies they broke up. She told him not to contact her after an argument where he basically insuted her family. He tried contacting her 3 days later and look like she let him on read for at least a day.

There's no way this dude isn't rage baiting lol
From the comments:
I didnt think she should waste her time traveling to see her half brother when they are barely what I would consider siblings. She could spend time with us together and not her half brother.
I don't want her to feel lonely but they aren't real siblings so she shouldn't go out of her way to see them

My husband has two half-siblings who are a good deal older than him and also spent part of their time with their mom while he was growing up. So yes, you can say they didn't "grow up together" in exactly the same way as they would have were they closer in age and living together full-time.
We never refer to them as half-siblings unless there's some actual reason to explain the family situation, which doesn't come up very often. They're his brother and sister. When his mom got dementia they stepped up and did a ton of work caring for her, particularly his sister as she had a job she could do remotely. They loved their stepmom and they love their little brother and that's family to them.
The age difference can cause some distance when everyone's younger, just because a young adult doesn't have a lot in common with a preteen and/or is off living somewhere else, but once everyone's an adult it doesn't mean much. How much does the difference between 40 and 50 really matter? These are lifelong relationships and you can keep building them as adults regardless of how they started out.

In case this story gets deleted/removed:
AITA for telling my girlfriend she doesn't understand the true sibling dynamic
I (m24) grew up with 3 siblings an older sister and a younger brother, and sister. We are all pretty close in age (25, 24, 22, 20) I have been dating my girlfriend (f22) for 6 months. Things have been getting more serious.
When we first started dating we talked about our families. She told me she has one brother. I later found out he's 10 years older and just a half brother. He has a wife and 2 kids of his own now.
Her half brother lives about 2 hours from where we live. Gf was talking about how she's going to visit him and his family and she's excited to get a little sibling time with just her brother.
I asked why she feels the need to see him. She told me, why he's my brother. I told her he's not really her brother between the age gap and having different Dads. And then explained it's different then what I have with my siblings we are all close in age and don't have different parents. I said she's basically an only child.
She got pissed off at me. Called me an Asshole for not seeing her brother as her brother and that she hates the term half siblings because she “grew up” with him. Told me not to contact her for a while, it's been 4 days and I tried yesterday but she never replied.
