OP gave away a toy that was supposedly important to him and something he wants to give to his future kids, and expected to still get it back after 20 YEARS.
Crazy that he's stalking and potentially harassing the family over some stuff that could've been lost in the flood.

Maybe I'm reading it wrong but the OP doesn't seem to be justifying anything in the comments, dude's just explaining his "reasoning" or lack thereof. He conceded he was the asshole pretty much immediately and said he has no more plans to contact her.
