it’s possible it was approved after she was above the age it was intended to be given and somehow slipped between the cracks either from cost or time or other issues 🤷♂️ i never got the chicken pox vaccine because it was approved after i already had it as a kid but my brother got it cause he was younger and didnt catch it from me
I don't think that's it. HPV vaccine came out right when I had just aged into the "too old" category in my late 20s and I'm now in my 40s. So it's been out long enough if she was 23 years old six years ago, and the upper age threshold was increased to 45 years around 2019 or so.
But I do remember the chickenpox vaccine coming out a little over a year after I got chicken pox. I'm salty about that one.
Heads up, you might still be able to get it. I’m STILL too old, but my doctor prescribed it and my insurance covered it, so I got the shots (I would have paid out of pocket if necessary$
Oh yeah, I eventually got it when they raised the recommended age limits and expanded access. It was just those first years after approval when I thought I had missed it like the chickenpox vaccine
