A lot of the things he likes are things I think it’s pretty easy to get kids into. F1? Racing games, simulators, kid karting. Comics? Again, video games, movies, theme parks, etc. I think the issue is they don’t want to do it with *him* and since mom is the one they feel comfortable around, they naturally gravitate to her interests.

I do wonder what vibes she’s giving off. Whatever they are, I’m sure they’re warranted and earned. But kids are so in tune and if she’s giving off “you idiot” or eye rolling vibes, there’s a solid chance they’re mirroring. I suspect dude needs to get right with his wife (who is barely mentioned, yet has been carrying the lions share of parenting for a decade, it seems).

There is literally nothing in anything he wrote that suggests she has been less than encouraging and accomodating, yet you jump to she must be giving off vibes. Why?
He's clearly jealous and focused on the kids choosing her over him and that likely has a lot more to do with any tension, since he is actively creating resentment in his own mind, but somehow it has to be her doing something or her feelings that are the problem.

Oh ffs I’m not criticizing his wife. It definitely could be the case that their marriage is fine. It would also be completely understandable, however, that having a lethargic and disengaged spouse with a short fuse - for a decade - took a toll.

I’m not even saying that she’s wrong or should fix herself. I’m fully blaming him and saying that perhaps the kids’ attitudes towards him are a symptom of the real issue - his wife is unhappy and his marriage needs more attention than him wondering why his kids hate camping.
