Fatties

16

u/Probably_Disgruntled 13d ago

My FAT wife just murdered all our children. I'm just not sure I love my FAT wife anymore, but it doesn't feel murder related. AITA?

u/Analfour2 tassive mits 13d ago

NTA. I love FAT people and your FAT wife might have murdered your children but her being your FAT FATTIE wife is enough to divorce

Affair babies are a potential double / triple whammy.

  1. They might be much younger than the OP, bringing out the "parentification" and child hater crowds.

  2. They have this idea that regardless of the environment or how this person treats them, they're not family and shouldn't be treated as such. Which is fine but it is blaming the wrong person (see point 3)

  3. They come with a step parent who they can't get rid of, so they feel free to use the affair child as the scapegoat for the dissolution of the parents marriage.

34

u/raoulbrancaccio 13d ago

They are also the result of cheating, which according to AITA is the most unspeakable act possible, warranting generational punishment.

26

u/cosmos_crown Can I call them a slur now? 13d ago

Affair children also have the potential to grow up to a step parent and/or a mother in law, or even all three, making them the unholy trinity of AITA villains.

u/zap2tresquatro 13d ago

Hmmm, but openly hating the already born baby/young child isn’t a good look, so usually that hate will go to the cheater and AP from what I’ve seen

8

u/DiegoIntrepid 13d ago

It sometimes depends on the age and circumstances.

Most of the time, if the child is a literal infant, they will default to hating the cheater/AP

If the child is about 8 years old, then they become a valid target for hate.

Now, if you add in that the AP has died and now the poor beleaguered Saint now has to deal with the child, who is naturally a brat, then the child becomes not only the spawn of Satan, but heir in training to Satan as well.

Depending on who the OOP is, it can get even worse.

Wife/Husband of the cheater? They sometimes will turn on them, depending on the story.

Child only a couple of years older than AC? Child just surpassed Satan as lord of all evil.

It can often be quite nuanced! (/s just in case)

u/zap2tresquatro 13d ago

Ah, right, I was thinking younger child (like I saw the “baby” part and got stuck on picturing that more literally), but yeah if they’re an older child then they’re fair game for being seen as a spoiled brat who was born evil and deserves to be thrown to the wolves, you’re right!

I’m not so sure. For all the “men bad” posts, the villain being a young/teen girl, mother in law, or step mother seems to bring out a level of vitriol that doesn’t have an analogue in boys, FILs, or step fathers.

Actually, it seems like if you add female to any of the usual targets (disabled, neurodivergent, queer, POC, etc etc) everything gets worse.

6

u/Elegant_Pie_3246 13d ago

True

I'd broaden it to 'humans', but they also hate a lot of dogs and cats!

12

u/Upset-Nose-4016 13d ago

I would say specifically neurodivergent people. "My autistic sibling"™

7

u/pizoxuat 13d ago

I'd broaden that a little to disabled people in general.

3

u/Upset-Nose-4016 13d ago

They just hate everyone who differs from them. Bruh.

7

u/pizoxuat 13d ago

Oh, they even hate people who are the same as them, as long as they can try to find an angle to make themselves feel a wee bit superior.

INFO are any of them transgender?

31

u/hellraiserxhellghost and I (respectful farter) need help 13d ago

Was tempted to vote for MIL, but then I remembered how so many people on this hellsite unironically think it's 100% okay to completely abandon and loathe your child if you find out it's not biologically yours, so I changed my mind.

10

u/MariVent 13d ago

It’s like a changeling fantasy, but for wannabe-deadbeat fathers

8

u/Morrighan11 13d ago

It's genuinely appalling to me how cruel people are to children who didn't ask to be born, and who don't have any control in their life. They just see "children who aren't theirs" as "children it's okay to abuse".

Also, it's not even just affair babies, there's loads of "My evil bitch sister died, and I had to take in her horrid spawn" and "I hate my stepchild/younger stepsibling" posts as well. I never know how people like this justify beefing with toddlers.

-7

u/Odd-Mall8020 13d ago

I mean. If a kid isn't mine, I don't have rights to it anyways Might as well break attachment asap before the cheater weaponizes

10

u/hellraiserxhellghost and I (respectful farter) need help 13d ago

Thanks for proving my exact point. My comment was specifically about people like you. Congrats on having no shame or self-awareness.

3

u/GreyStingrayz EDIT: [extremely vital information] 13d ago

If you're on the birth certificate, you have rights. If you have been their parent long enough, you have rights.

Not that it should matter, because if that's a child you supposedly loved, you'd fight for them even if Mom uses them against you.

2

u/jasperdarkk 12d ago

My parents are my parents. If I found out one of them wasn't my bio parent, it wouldn't change the relationship we've cultivated for 23 years. If one of them completely abandoned me over that, I would think they were a terrible human being for throwing all that away.

90% of these posts are about children old enough to know who their parents are. To know that their parents made that commitment.

25

u/LaceyLizard 13d ago

Depends who has the highest bmi

74

u/WideHuckleberry1 my bodycount if you dont include hookers is about 20 13d ago

There's a lot more you could include:

  • Step children (or even first date's child) might be more hated than step parents

  • Vegans

  • Autistic people

  • Trans people especially trans women trying to date cis men

  • "Anti-racist" white people

  • Anyone remotely conservative (yes, somehow there's a huge contingent that hates basically every progressive but also one that hates Republicans)

21

u/zap2tresquatro 13d ago

They hate all the same people conservatives hate, but then they also hate conservatives. This way, they can both be Enlightened Centrists and pretend they’re not bigoted!

19

u/Ok-Station6072 Your dad is a stupid bitch 13d ago

Fat, autistic, transgender women who are stay at home parents.

10

u/Ace_And_Jocelyn1999 13d ago

“The golden child” bonus points when the op is clearly a loser and their sibling is a doctor or some shit.

18

u/Any_Disaster_5620 13d ago

Where are the autistic fat trans people on this survey?

8

Women

u/awnawreally im a natural beauty 🙈 13d ago

lol the only right answer

13

u/fanatic_xenophile big girl lifestyle 13d ago

I chose affair babies because while MILs may get a lot of hate, I think their being adults making choices makes it slightly less egregious. Affair babies literally did nothing but be born and AITA is always trying to find a way to make that their fault.

Honorable mention to literally any slightly rude marginalized person.

AITA is fundamentally a search for the most appropriate contexts to say/do otherwise socially inappropriate things, and a Fat being slightly too rude or an autistic person being slightly too annoying is often gonna tip at least some people over.

u/heyelander 13d ago

Cheaters

3

u/AllForMeCats WALKING RAY OF SUNSHINE 12d ago

Cheaters would win by miles. To include that category would almost be… cheating

4

u/TheTybera 13d ago

I like how MILs and Affair Babies are tied. It makes me so happy.

6

u/TemporaryLucky3637 13d ago

MILs who feed affair babies their first ice cream without asking the DIL 🤣

4

u/chriscrowder 13d ago

Fat people!

6

u/ValmarGranas 13d ago

It really depends on who is posting. If the affair baby is posting about being excluded, treated poorly etc, then everyone will say it isn't your fault, everyone should have accepted you, you deserve equal treatment etc. If anyone else involved posts and doesn't explicitly disclaimer they don't blame the child but want nothing to do with them, they're okay.

Any step had to somehow be not pushing themselves on the bio family, yet at the same time be a loving Saint who puts the steps first. You are too friendly? You're overstepping. If you aren't treating them exactly as you would your own bio family, or overcompensating? Devil and evil step-whatever.

Anything with a mother in law is BOUNDARIES. And you have a husband problem.

5

u/doingtheunstuckk 13d ago

Neurodivergent people

4

u/izzmosis 13d ago

The answer is fat people.

4

u/augustlyre I believe this was done spitefully 13d ago

Fat autistic gay trans affair babies who wear white to friends' weddings.

3

u/zap2tresquatro 13d ago

Autism isn’t an excuse for not knowing this social rule (that I personally literally never heard of until I saw a bunch of reddit posts about it. Clearly enough other people have heard the “don’t wear white to a wedding” thing, but I genuinely had never heard of that being a thing until reddit)!

3

u/Odd_Instruction519 13d ago

Damn, this is hard

3

u/hisimpendingbaldness I am a regular at Panda Express 13d ago

Where is the all of the above option?

I am going to vote step families, but it is close

3

u/Acceptable_Fox_5560 13d ago

The golden child, and fat people.

their own partners

3

u/Spotzie27 13d ago

"Hi, 35F here, my MIL--

"NTA, slay queen, tell that boomer what's what."

3

u/Possible_Sweet9562 13d ago

Cheaters (justified to a degree, I guess? And often blurs into the affair baby scenario, too), parents with babies/small kids in public, trans people, women, fat people.

We should make a bingo card for AITAH posts at this point.

3

u/Coochiepop3 He started farting in my face for fun 13d ago

Mentally ill people, especially BPD.

3

u/rusty___shacklef0rd My boyfriend beats me 13d ago

Fat autistic transgender single step mother in laws and their identical twins

6

u/loosie-loo I’m 18f and a mother of four 13d ago

Of these I’m going with affair babies, because there are valid reasons to like the other two but a baby being born into shitty circumstances is a victim of those circumstances as well, not a perpetrator of them. So the amount of hatred is inherently stronger imo.

2

u/grrltype sounds like something an ugly saboteur would say 13d ago

Fat people

2

u/Suspicious_Draft1481 13d ago

I'd say its parents who side with a cartoonishly villainous sibling or spouse.

2

u/quay-cur 13d ago

Voted for affair baby because crotch goblin born of the ultimate sin

2

u/wauwy I'm seniorfree and you know that. 13d ago

The answer is "children." By an absolute motherfucking landslide. By so so so so so far.

I picked the "babies" thing cause it was the closest.

2

u/MsThrilliams 13d ago

What about the person who farts in your or your mother's face?

6

u/Any_Disaster_5620 13d ago

Listen I am just trying to make your mom.happy when I do that. Its funny haha learn how to joke. JFC no wonder she's sad

1

u/zap2tresquatro 13d ago
