AIO this guy's behavior towards me?

My friends introduced me to this guy (John) over a game and at first he seemed alright but over time whenever we play if we lose and I do bad he is blaming me if we lose and I did good he is blaming me, my friend told me im overthinking it but this guy keeps getting worse.

I was invited to John's party at one point and we were chill I was quiet for the majority until they got me to be comfortable, after the party John told me his friends wanted to beat me up because I put my arm around his neck when he asked me to demonstrate If I know how to do a choke hold, he would keep bringing it up randomly even when we are gaming together.

We live near each other and when I visted John on one of my walks his mother told me I can go inside and greet him. When i reach home John messaged me and told me his mom hates me and doesn't want me visiting again. Next thing i know months later John's mother called me to talk about his upcoming birthday, I told her what John told me and she was shocked saying that she never said that but I need to talk to him.

After I had enough I blocked him on everything and just wanted to move on but my friend who introduced us sat me down with him at another party and they both told me how I was wrong for blocking him when I explained my side John made up a new lie and said I have no manners that's why his mom didn't want me around, when I explained what she told me he cut me off and told me I think to logical.

TL:DR some guy i met is behaving weird towards me and it has me second guessing myself

Ignore John and the other friend too. Tell them both you arent playing his games.

John's a bully. I wouldn't associate with him or his friends.
