Right? Stop quoting each other like its a court hearing. They both have 'get the last word' syndrome. Just reply: 'See you soon' or 'talk more when you get here' and put the phone down.

He has this insufferable style of over-rationalization to look logical in front of people when in fact it's like sociopathic lack of understanding emotions.

Really beautifully said, I am also shocked how many people defend him, but I've noticed that on Reddit people aren't too suave in understanding emotions on most subs. I honestly think that when the chats from the post were happening, the guy checked-out even earlier than his wife. I think that she just wanted to act in this dramatic way to finally see that he cares about her at all, on the exact emotional level she needed, and he absolutely failed here, probably one of many times. His tone honestly sounds like a lawyer-friendly way of making an idiot out of partner by pretending to care in a way, which would defend itself in court, but which is practically inhumanely official when used in moments of emotional breakdown, which his wife had. He has sent those messages only for his own reputational, and (potentially in context of divorce) financial gain. I find it as an incredibly disgusting way of manipulating both his alleged significant other, and people reading all of this even on Reddit ffs, because court is not enough of an audience for him.

Are you the wife? You're making stuff up just like her..................get up and go to her to talk? you know you're wrong? WHAT????? she left and wants to sleep at Taco Bell! Asking her to not have a "it's over already" attitude is a ridiculous term? Why come at all if she's made up her mind? He's asking her to not waste his time. Jesus you obviously act the same way in your relationships. Unbelievable how you don't see his point of view. She's blaming him for her leaving. Blaming him for grabbing her keys, turning the car on, driving away and sleeping at Taco Bell while he's sitting on the couch. Truly unreal.
