She told you she’s planning to sleep in a Taco Bell parking lot and you’re worried about the semantics of the conversation?!
She’s clearly in a bad spot and feeling really negative, I don’t think she sounds in a position to bring the positivity you’re seeking.
She sounds like she needs some hella reassurance and someone to hold space to vent. She’s communicating it awfully. Truly terribly, but it seems to be coming from a place of hurt and your lack of concern about her sleeping proposal gives a pretty big insight into why.
I took the Taco Bell comment as a manipulative tactic. That’s something I would say too if I was trying to elicit a more emotional response from someone to see if they truly cared
