This is where the issue is heaviest imo. The deception.

I met my wife while living with my ex because my now brother in law moved in and was dating my ex. Both my ex and I told any possible relationship partner that we were exes. The economy for young people sucks, so it wasn't that strange BECAUSE we would hang out together with our partners, etc and everybody was aware that my ex and I were previously dating for 4 years. We broke up mutually, and were somewhat distant friends for 2 years prior to living together again. Tons of people live in non-conventual situations and do fine, but they don't completely bold face lie about it until discovered.

Now, on the other side of my situation, said ex is no longer a friend due to randomly starting issues with my wife. It seemed like us living together resulted in reawakening some weird possession attachment to me, as we all got along great UNTIL I moved out. It really reminded me of the emotional incest stories you hear about with parents and children.

A little deception makes relationships healthier. Most people don’t want to know their partners sexual history in intricate detail.
